Comin' Up Next on B100

Coming up within the next hour on Atlanta's B100, the station that plays the hottest AC music in the land:

Colbie Caillet, Rob Thomas, Bread, Matchbox20, O.A.R, more Rob Thomas, All Saints, Melissa Manchester, "The Pina Colada Song," Carole King, a song from 1994, Phil Collins, more Rob Thomas, and for good measure some Matchbox20.

Based on Rock 100.5 ratings outside TRG one must wonder when this could occur. TRG did not do that bad though considering the signal and lack of listeners in all other dayparts. They finished 3rd in men 18-34 and 8th overall in 18-34. They finished 9th overall on 25-54 and 5th among men there.

What is goiong on the rest of the day though is the pits I guess. What format could they consider that keeps TRG since they are the whole part of that station producing revenue and try to grow other dayparts?

...scary thing is, I think RadioFreeAtlanta was talking about Q-100 (99.7). I do have to say, tho.....
Their Saturday Night Q last week was awesome! Very little rap and LOTS more trance/techno!

An A/C would never work on such a weak signal. Especially with B98.5 at 100,000 watts.

The joke...if you haven't gotten it like I have...is that both B98.5 (Cox) and Q100 (Cumulus) both have small playlists that are repeative, and both rely heavily on research to get there. And they both can sound alike at times.

Both ignore their formats. Q100 does not play "All The Hits", and B98.5 doesn't play "Atlanta's Best Variety Of Soft Rock" (during normal non-holiday times). Q100 plays 90's artists and Rob Thomas with an occasional 80's song, while B98.5 plays dance music and Kelly Clarkson with the occasional rap song.

I wonder if they share a consultant somewhere down the line?

I also wonder what is coming up on Q98.5...

Know what else they share? Superior ratings to their competition.
