changes on The X coming soon

what kind of changes are we talking about? Are they major changes in the format or just minor changes like the shifting around of air personalities?

Re: changes on The X coming soon

MD/night guy Greg Sutton heads to WXSR/Tallahassee, FL (Go Noles)

“Trixie” becomes MD

“Spam” becomes AMD/nights

Weekender Walt “Dex” Mitchell will run Mancow’s Morning Madhouse locally.

Congrats to all on their new responsibilities.

You forgot to mention that they are changing their format to "Music Of Your Life" and going for the 54+ format. Call letter swap to WEZK, which has been parked on an LPTV is also on the table and should be in place sometime before August 1.

We're not that lucky.

I love rock and alt stuff, but 94.3 is by far the most dreadful Rock station I've heard in any market. That said, it fits in with the other miserable stations up on the SS hill.

Maybe miserable is a bad term. Tired may be better. IMZ is tired, same 200 songs over and over. There is sooo much more to classic rock. See: WIMZ in the early 90's with Jim Kelly, Shane Cox, Phil Williams and Billy Kid. Oldies made changes to stop being so tired and they failed. I'll give B credit for adding some newer stuff lately, but same tired morning morning show and evening program.

I have to give credit to WIMZ here lately. They've really been doing a great job in adding more variety to the playlist. I've been hearing some stuff on that station that I've not heard in years. They must have found the key to their music library or something but they're sounding better. I have to agree with you though about WIMZ in the early 90's. Billy Kidd is still there doing afternoons but sadly all the others are gone. Yeah, in the early 90's WIMZ played EVERYTHING that was rock n roll. I think they were even playing new rock back then too.

Has anyone heard about what South Central plans on doing with Oldies? It don't look like the ratings are going to improve for that station at all. Personally, I think right now it's sounding better than it has in a while but it's probably already too late to get their audience back.
