"There's a new 'K'id in town."

Could it be? More generic alphabet soup radio for the Jersey shore? Looks like it.

I'm no expert or anything (nope, not me) but I'd bet good money Press is planning on launching K-98.5 Radio (on the 'new' WKOE) sometime soon.

Just keep watching K985Radio.com. See what happens.

Thank goodness for Press. ;) Who needs Sesame Street when we have them around? ;)

Who knows what this symbolizes? I sure hope it's not a Country station (the area doesn't need another one, as proven by WJRZ's failure with the format), but I'm not optimistic. More generic radio for Ocean County.

Hmmm ....

Y100, Q102, Z100, B101 all seem to do pretty well. Press didn't invent the single letter monikers.

They didn't invent sucky radio either, but that doesn't stop them from attempting to perfect it.

Y100 Is dead.

It never really died, it was prematurely killed by a Ra**** outfit, who ran it on auto-pilot since they acquired it from that sell out Lerner. It was told to me he loved the format, they why sell it to those thiefs, go for some other company. They never had any intention of keeping the format, I knew as soon as sell out Lerner sold it, the slow death would take effect. Ra**** One had their own plans in mind, just like they destroyed 103.9 and took control of the last mom and pop station in Jersey, leaving the rural residents with nothing but two weak AM's, carrying on the tradition, kudos to the 1440/1240 crew.

I love reading RockIntern's post. They are always filled with so much LOVE for anything black oriented..

Oy...do you ever quit?

I have a few suggestions if you're using bottlerockets this 4th of July. You might have the occasion to use some launch pads that don't normally see the light of day.

And, by the way, Y-100 sucked as an alt station. So who cares. Alt radio was good when Pinfield was still on the air. That was 15 years ago.

You never really told us what you do, 3K Rock. What is your occupation? A lot of us are curious, I'm sure.

Press should of stayed in paper, cause the paper is something generic... Radio shouldnt be generic but they mastered it....

sorry press, but thats how I feel

They will probably just go back to simulcasting wjlk 94.3 like they did before B.

That's not going to happen, as WJLK is owned by Millennium Radio Group and WKOE is owned by Press Communications. There was a rumor going around that Press was going to sell 98.5 to Millennium, but it was only that - a rumor.

You watch - I'm predicting a generic, bland Country format over something that would actually be new & exciting and may attract listeners.

My bad, I always get these two companies mixed up.

Thing is with country, even though the signal is sh*tty in monmouth, those country fans will listen through the static, they have no other choice. What other format can do that?
