COMING TOGETHER AS A BROACASTING COMMUNITY

Serious Question!

What can we do in a collaborative effort as broadcasters to help our friends in NYC? Beyond the NFB of putting a link to the Red Cross up on our social media pages. Come on, we deal with NYC everyday.

IMHO, it'd be a good idea for us to set aside our competitiveness of CC vs CBS vs Cumulus....and come together with an idea to raise funds or food and water for victims of Hurricane Sandy. Thoughts?

I think a multi-station radiothon from different clusters and stations coming together for broadcast at the same time would be a great idea. Have the television stations involved too.

Maybe also each cluster sending some staffers to travel to New York and New Jersey and help out in the clean up too, along with reporting on the process.

In theory...good, well intentioned idea.

In reality...probably ain't gonna happen. Too many logistical hoops to jump through, plus somebody's gotta be the lead dog, which will ruffle some feathers.
