Comments Anyone about WCBS FM?

You know that this issue will not go unsettled despite the fight to keep Jack off the dial.

I check the Arbitron Ratings because I am a subscriber and they were 3.3 in the ratings.

I cant believe that Infinity would do such a thing. They should have put back the years from 1950 to 1980.

Dont forget about the audience who were supporters of the oldies format. I for once loved the oldies despite I am at a young age.

I think it was a dumb move. K Rock and Mix are doing worst.

I agree with what you are saying.

Whoever told the station to flip should have been fired on the spot.

Now what does New Yorkers have to say about the death of their favorite oldies station.

I know that the fight with the GM about the flip will end up putting someone in jail.

WCBS FM was a true oldies station and I know that the supports are now picketing at the station.

The only alternative I can suggest is for the listeners to try and get WKHL out of Connecticut or WTKU in Jersey.

Oldies 1360 out of Northern NJ is a great station. They stream online at oldies1360.com. Listeners should check out 1500 WGHT or 1250 WMTR. Then there is Kool 96.7.

Radio-Locator

FYI on Radio-Locator - it's a great resource, but use it wisely, because after a certain amount of time, it'll cut you off from using it further unless you sign up to register for it. Which would be worth it if you plan on listening to a lot of online radio. The other option, you can always try again tomorrow...
______________

WCBS FM - Ratings; The Switch

I kindly ask that you please refrain from posting ratings on this website in the future. It's copyrighted data and everyone who wants to know where to get it, knows where to get it. I will let this instance slide only because it's the hot topic right now.

Why Infinity chose CBS-FM over the underperforming FM-ers... And why now... Keep in mind that it was a decision from "up top" and the CBS-FM staffers did not know about the move until 4 PM on Friday... The higher-ups are planning for the long-term, and despite the station's placement in the ratings, compared to WXRK and WNEW, they foresaw that WCBS-FM would be the weakest link.

They basically did - plus the 90's. That's the story of Jack.
______________

This is what I have to say: I am upset that the legendary CBS FM is no more. A great station gone forever, but lets give Jack a chance.

RIP CBS FM 101
______________
