Commercial Classical Music station

How many commerical classical music station are left, just today WGMS sign off Classical music and change their format to Adult Hits.

Here is the list so far that I know.

1. New York - WQXR - 96.3
2. Los Angeles - KMZT - 105.1
4. San Francisco - KDFC 102.1
5. Dallas - WRR - 101.1
11. Boston - WCRB 99.5
14. Seattle - KING 98.1
26. Cleveland WCLV 104.9

Any more?

Milwaukee - WFMR 106.9
Chicago - WFMT 98.7
Toronto - CFMX 96.3 (and 103.1)

There's supposed to be commercial classicals in Ottawa and Montreal as well.

we have a french fm station at 97.1 that is commercial but it also plays jazz as well as classical...it's not a 24 hour classical station...it goes by the name couleur fm...it's actually somewhat popular with the anglophone audience....they're slogan is la radio anti-stress. On a somewhat related note...¿does St. Louis still have a classical station that's not NPR?

That would be KFUO-FM 99.1 "The Best Hits of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries." It's still around, and it probably will be unless/until the Lutheran Church sells it. I know they've turned down quite-a-few good offers for it.

That's the one..I used to get it in South East Iowa in the late 90's in the summer. I just wasn't sure of the name

In Stowe, Vermont is WCVT at 101.7.

http://www.wcvtradio.com/

From their website:

"Our mission is to encourage and support the arts and in particular the appreciation and understanding of classical music.
Part of our credo is to highlight important and interesting Vermont artists. Music, the spoken word and the promotion of arts events are daily highlights. We will bring classical music to a generation grown tired of "pop" music."

Wouldn't it be terrific if someone had the "programming guts" to put together a 24-hour radio station devoted to soundtracks, film scores and 20th century themeatic music? 8)

Rather than have an announcer segue his comments between the music of 400 year old dead composers...perhaps he or she could relate a bit better to 21st century listeners by promoting past and present artists, writers and musicians who are a bit closer to the age group the station is attempting to reach? ???

>>2. Los Angeles - KMZT - 105.1

Technically they just changed to country as Go Country but have reappeared on AM 1260 and also
the HD channel of 105.1

Here in Houston we had KRTS "K-Arts" 92.1 until mid-to-late 2004 when the owner sold it to Radio One, who flipped it to Regional Mexican and then to Urban Gospel.

Good topic, but who has the best overall commercial Classical ratings? With 12+, (perhaps not a fair demo for this format, but most easily referenced),

1. KDFC San Francisco (#8 overall)
2. WCRB Boston (#9 overall)
3. KING Seattle (#12 overall)

Not surprising considering the demographics and psychographics of these metros.
