Commercials that DO NOT get the job done

Have you ever heard commercials that don't get the job done?

Walmart opened one of their Neighborhood Market stores in Bristol, Connecticut last month. Since then they've been running ads on DRC-FM and other stations. Their ad says "Now open in Bristol, next to Spare Time Bowling." Okay. So most people in Bristol will know where Spare Time is, but people from other towns won't. The ad should say "Now open on Farmington Avenue Route 6 Bristol next to Spare Time Bowling." (Technically it's the corner of Route 6 and Oakland Street and you have to go down Oakland Street to get there).

All of them, for me. When a commercial comes over my car radio, I instantly change the station until I find one that's playing music.

Then there's the restaurant owner in Charlotte who fired his ad agency because he wanted to get "personal" with his audience: " I guarantee that once you eat at my restaurant, you'll become a regular."
