All,

It might be interesting to know:

* What automation packages you're using?
* Did anyone upgrade their studio this year?
* Is anyone still using vinyl?
* How much of your schedule is live vs automated?
* What's your format?
* Are you streaming as well as on-air transmission?
* Do know what your audience size is?
* Are you planning any changes to your station during 2006?

Hopefully, we can have some good conversations on these and similar topics.
______________

Interesting questions, Frank!

The biggest change is that I'm involved in a new venture with Live365
that will basically require me to become a "multicaster."
Two large streaming stations, one will be "MUSIC OF NEW LIFE" with a classic contemporary Christian music format, and one "MEMORIES" mixing adult standards,
MOR, cross-country and a light AC mix that's not normally heard. These two
"channels" will have premium distribution to iTines, Windows Media Player,
Motorola iRadio, TiVo and other services for greater reach and are expected to launch around the end of January.

Also hope to get WSJL Resort Radio paid for and relocated to Florida from N.J.
It will retain its previous oldies format and will be over-the-air on 1700 AM.

WJJD will continue with classic country as is with no changes.

If anyone gets Radio World, check out the Jan. 4 issue on page 38..that's me..

Happy New Year to all and keep broadcasting!
______________

I dont know which one is good, I dont know whats availble, and most of all, on my front not a lot of cash to do this with.. As far as equipment goes, I have a radio shack ssm 1750 mixer which has always done the job, sorry quit laughing, and cd decks, e.t.c.

If you're looking at computer automation with mp3 files - SAM2 has worked great for me for a couple of years - not sure, don't think it would work to trigger CD decks though. But for computer-based, SAM2 ($199) has been a gem.
