Companies that make up Clear Channel

I've read about all these radio companies that Clear Channel aquired during the years.

Capstar, AMFM, Jacor, Chancellor, etc. I think CC even owned Hispanic Broadcasting (the current Univision Radio) at one point, but don't quote me on that.

With CBS is easier: old CBS Radio + Infinity + Group W = current CBS Radio.

Could someone please be so kind as to provide a list, (a scorecard if you must) of all these companies that eventually made up the construct that is Clear Channel Radio?

This radio history nerd wants to know. :)

Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas/Happy Hannukah/Happy Kwanza/Excellent New Year 2007.

There used to be a cool chart of all the mergers that showed how many companies became only four. Does anyone have it?

No, it did not. It owned a percentage of non-voting shares, but did not come even close to owning the cmpany.

A number of the Clear Channel companies are still considered licensee subsidiaries--check the FCC database for the licensees of your favorite CC stations: you'll find that Jacor is still around, as is Citicasters, Capstar, AMFM (I thought Chancellor was merged into AMFM before CC took it over), etc.

An easy chart may exist, but the info is all public--part of the SEC filings every year. You can also check CC's website for a timeline and the filings and press releases.

From Wikipedia, here's a list, but no dates for each:

The Ackerley Group
AMFM
Apex
Chancellor
Clark Broadcasting
Dame Media
Eastern Radio Assets
Gulfstar
Jacor
Nationwide Communications
Quad City
Roberts
Taylor Broadcasting
Trumper Communications
SFX Radio
Mondosphere Broadcasting
