Compare & Contrast: Russ Martin & "Danny"

Russ Martin, the afternoon host at male-oriented Live 105.3 (nee Free-FM), was charged with assaulting his girlfriend, and according to a recent story, will eventually be cleared of the charges.

Meanwhile, over in West Palm Beach, Ralph "Danny" Czekalinski, co-host of the morning show at female-skewing WRMF, had a similar charge against him dropped just last week:

Interestingly, the article quotes WRMF's GM as "[predicting] in media reports that the charge would be dropped" against "Danny".

Regardless of what happens with regards to Russ Martin, the irony of the West Palm Beach story is that the co-host at a radio station popular with female listeners, roughed up his girlfriend, and gets a slap on the wrist.
 
Russ Martin has been charged with assault. We dod not know that the victim was his girlfriend. You might want to think twice next time, before you throw out unfounded rumors.

There is no proof he didn't.. Yet there is a news report from a reputable source that he did.. Yet there is no news source from any source saying he didn't

so, richie whitt's blog is a reputable news source? seriously, where is a real media outlet was it reported that he hit his GF? the only thing from any real news source is that he was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with bodily injuries with a deadly weapon. that could be any number of things. call the SPD with an FOI request if you really need to know what happened so bad.
 
First of all, nowhere in any reputable story have I seen the phrase "Domestic violence" been used...everyone assumes that he hit his girlfriend. Furthermore, the story in the DMN, it states that he has been charged with "aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing bodily injury." Just because the man is successful in radio makes him your #1 target. Get over it. As far as some people saying that "no one will listen today," you are complete idiots. Today he will have the largest listening audience he's ever had. As for those that think it's a hoax or a "bit" . . . think about it this way, if it were a bit, wouldn't he have done it during the fall book? Or how about in February when KLLI is close to being Movin's 2nd signal and he has to save his job?

There are no news sources reporting that Russ Martin struck or assaulted anyone...

There are no news sources reporting there are aliens, loch nech monster, or bigfoot,

all of the above are reported by news sources and being claimed by individuals. News sources will report it as fact after a conviction.
 
Two things are bad for Russ here.

I don't know how it is in Danny's state, but in Texas, a woman cannot recant her statement or refuse to testify like what happened with Danny. The case will be prosecuted as Texas Vs. Russ Martin, not the girl vs. russ, she can't drop charges.

She can be called as a hostile witness if nessacary and face pergury, warrants and contempt of court if she does not comply.

Also, I didn't read much of Danny's case, but I didn't see that there was much physical evidence, and there was also no gun supposedly involved.

Russ's case has physical evidence, although there is only one witnesses statement as to what caused it, (not Russ yet) and also her statement claims he was brandishing a firearm during the assault.

Those things are bad, we will have to wait for further developments in Russ's case.
