COMPETITION BRINGING OUT THE BEST AT THE RIVER & MAGIC

Others may have tweaked their music playlists recently, but the River is really sounding better.
While 106.7 seems to be fogged in lately (trying to cover too many bases) the River is roaring.

Same can be said for Magic. Kiss 104 seems to have added many slower tunes from the 90s+
but forgot about the mid-tempo and mid-funky tracks. Magic seems to have noticed this void
and now the competition is on.

The River has *maybe* improved slightly. Once in a while, I'll actually hear them play a song that's not part of the "fried 500" of classic hits and album rock radio.

Overall though, they sound very cookie-cooker and as if they haven't figured out it's not 1985 anymore. Anytime I'm listening (admittedly not in morning drive much) the jocks seem pretty stuck on reading liner cards.

They are also doing 50 minutes of music in a row, which I think is new for them. It kinda sounds
like they have 4 tape drives and one of them is playing new material.

I agree, but during AM drive Kaedy Kiely is her usual interesting and knowledgeable self.

New to Atlanta and great to see such an active radio community. One comment about The River and B-98, they both are running one stop set an hour, that's over 10 units in a row. I didn't think advertisers would stand for that. Don't know if we have any agency folks on this board but curious to hear what you think. Maybe it's just a sign of the times or the latest in PPM manipulation.
