Did anyone notice that since MMR is the only game in town the commercial load has tripled. I have sat through over 8 minutes of commercials just to hear the Stones for the unteenth time. The music marathons are not 20 anymore, they are more like 4 or 5 in a row. When YSP starts the music, you can hear MMR tweak and throw more Active sounding tunes in and cut down on the commercials. IMHO, YSP is still the king of the Active Rock Music Playlist. Why they tease the music audiance is beyond me, unload this talk trash or put the Rock on OGL. There is plenty of new rock around, Priest, Poison, Crue, Zombie, Motorhead, SOD, and many bands to numerous to mention, this music is not being pushed on the public. We need a full time Active rocker to educate the radio audiance on all this new music by Rock/Metal/Alternative bands, so this music can thrive once more, but I guess they would rather push more drum machine violence by 50cent and JayZ.

The "competition" is XM (channels 40-54) and Sirius (channels 14-28).I'd rather listen to WURD than that krp but whatever floats your boat.

I miss the days when there was more than 1 rock station on the radio dial.I think it's a bad marketing ploy that aparticular city have SO many URBAN catering stations. It's as if radio has turned it's back on ROCK MUSIC......which is all phucked up by itself, being that Philly IS / Was the Birthplace of Rock and Roll......It's not the birthplace of Hip/hop, or the the birthplace of Rap. I also think Clear channel should be considered a monopoly and be forced to be broken up.but that will NEVER happen because the bueracrats in the FCC like money, and we all know that the Lowery Mays family of bankers have lots of it.

You say there's plenty of new rock around and then give us "Priest, Poison, Crue, Zombie, Motorhead, SOD"? Uh, no thanks. (moderator edit)

And save the thinly veiled racial comments for your boys and keep it off the board.
Guess that "thinly-veiled racial comment" was so thinly-veiled I missed it. Since when is not liking FiddyCent and/or others of his musical ilk considered "racist"? By that "reasoning", not liking Fords means you don't like all automobiles. ::)

Nah it's right there. You just gotta look you can find one in ALL of RockIntern's writings. And no hating rap is not racist. Carrying out a vendetta upon it in the name of race is. But I mean... this has been going on for months now. And really I think all of us are tired of it.

With all the crap that some people write on this board I get an "Edited by Moderator" for telling someone to keep the racial stuff of the board?

Hey hotline, hothead or whatever your name is this week, I think this board is run just fine. The true bias board was the now defunct Nazi board, with LV the one-sided leader. That board was so pro-dance-urban and against any sort of rock, when posters such as myself, Bob A, musicrrr or Soulcrusher posted anything pro rock the post was deleted and sometimes posters were banned. In the same token, you and your rap loving friends posted constant anti-rock, and pro-urban statements and the posts stood up, if one of us posted a negative response we were banned. In another light, your post probably was edited because you outright attacked me, just like your other buddies, I said nothing to attack you, but as usual the urban freaks start the flame war. As for the bands I posted, they all have "new music" out now, including Def Leperd, lets see these fly by night rappers, operating after 20 or so years, that is if they are not drive byed.

RockIntern, if you knew half as much as you think you know you'd be a very intelligent man. Instead, well...I don't have any 'buddies' on this board and I've never posted under another name. I don't 'love' rap and very seldom, if ever, listen to it. I don't give a crap about any other board that may have tinkled on your cornflakes, nor do I like Def 'Leperd' or many of the other bands whose names you can't spell. I am a former PD and jock who still loves the industry and I remain interested in it no matter how far down the toilet it seems to have gone. I harbor no ill will toward anyone or any format and I come here to find information and maybe enjoy some industry gossip or to find out what's happening with some friends who are still in the business. I think everyone who's read a post or two on here knows your feelings about rap or spanish or anything else (read non-white) that you don't care for. My only comment to you personally was that you should keep it off this board and save it for when you're hangin' out with your buddies. We're all more than a little tired of it.
