Complaint about KLTO

I hate it now that KLTO came in the picture, now with them I can not get 97.9 The box without my outdoor antenna. I emailed the FCC about this, but I never got a respons back. I dont see how KLTO came that close to KBXX's protected area. I didnt have any problem when they were on the old tower site. Now it just kills KBXX. I wonder if anyone else has this problem? I hate it. They should of moved KLTO more to the west.

You're probably fighting a losing battle on this one, jras. I doubt you're going to get a response from the FCC, period. You're not part of the "localism" that the FCC is promoting currently. Sorry to say it, but instead of KLTO being forced to move farther west, you may be forced to move your house farther east! At least it would be quicker. :D

May as well deal with it, 'cause the road from Cuero to Ol' San Antone is a decade-long boulevard of broken dreams, littered with lawyers and petitions to deny.

I know this really doesnt apply to here about this part, but when I drive from luling onward through to Shiner, all my portable radio can pick up is KLTO. I would of thought KLTO would of done better at the tower of america with it being up from KAJA not Down. I guess I could get me a expensive HD radio that might clear it up and might not. Those radios really needs to come down before I buy another one.

How do I do that? Buy a new tuner? My HD tuner will do a good job at the Narrowing of other stations, but its to expensive right now for 2.

No - it is a simple modification to the electronics which will make it reject first adjacents better. There are a lot of links to the procedure on the internet - I'm afraid my own is a bit out of date:

Digikey discontinued the Tokos, but the good news is they are now carrying Muratas. Mouser stocks the much better 110 kHz width filters. Look at the bottom of my ceramic filter page for links to other articles that might be better than mine:
