Completely New Talk Format Idea??

I had an idea. We all know there is traditional talk radio (left or right winged), sports talk etc. Would a entertainment type or format work? Kinda like TMZ type ish. Something that covers all aspects of entertainment, pop culture, etc. Might not work in San Antonio but what do you think about it working anywhere else?

I am not talking about how to sell if and if it would or not. I am talking about do you think it would be popular. In my opinion I think maybe in a big city like LA (especially where you have access to movie stars) that it would be interesting to see such a format develop.

What do you think?

Some of the morning shows are heavy on this type of talk. KTFM and Mix 96 come to mind.

Will the people who seek this out on their way to work also listen to this at work?

That's what I was thinking. Ryan Seacrest, Elvs Duran and even Howard Stern are very celebrity obsessed shows. They are the TMZ of radio.

Not to mention that "entertainment talk" has been tried before and failed. That was what Blink 102.7 in New York and the very short-lived 99.5 WOW FM in Detroit were. However, if you think you can do it better, pitch the idea and give it a shot!
