Since upgrading to the newest adobe audition..I miss terribly a setting in the compressor
section called "Great"..if anyone is using an early version with this preset dynamic processor setting, could you give me the graph values so I can replicate it.
It was a favorite setting of mine.

I believe this is what you are looking for. Cool Edit Pro 2.0...Vocal Great

cmp 5.5 : 1 above -24 dB
exp 1.3 : 1 below -24 dB
Compensation Gain = 19.6dB

is that a preset in the dynamic processor on ce 2.0??i could not find it ...thanks for your input

I would suggest that you change the compensaton gain from 19.6 to roughly 10.3 or lower or you'll distort and overdrive the vo, but I'm using CE 1.0 and that might be different in 2.0

and you will need to create this as a "Favorite" , I don't believe it's a pre-set

Here's what I use.

cmp infinite above -14.1 dB
exp 1.1 : 1 below -14.1 dB
Compensation Gain = 5.6dB

Mind you this is after an RE20 goes through a Symetrix 528e with it's own compresson settings.

Hey Guys,

Just a quick note...the setting I posted earlier for Cool Edit 2.0 Vocal Great was the default setting. I use no more than 2.1 compression for vocal. Anymore than 3.1, it'll sound like you're having an asthma attack. Tweaking is always necessary depending on equipment used and its settings, and of course the voice.
