Comrex Telephone Hybrid

A local station has a telephone hybrid labeled Comrex Access with a Rack Control Surface. That's the only model information we can find. No one left at the station knows how to use it, so I'm trying to identify the model so that I can download the manual. I'm sure it's a common model, but it's at least several years old. Is that enough information to identify the unit? I've been through the Comrex website, and I cannot find a picture of the control module to help identify it.

Can you post a picture of the unit in question? The only Comrex Access unit I know of is the POTS / IP codec.

Unfortunately I cannot post a picture because I don't have access to the studio. A weekend guest host is having a problem with the system, so I probably will not be able to go to the studio for a week or three. He doesn't know where to look.

There are really two questions that someone may be able to answer:

How do you keep caller one as a guest host on the air while adding and removing other callers?

Sometimes the unit will answer calls but will not put the caller on the air when the appropriate button is pressed. How is the system rebooted (other than pulling the power cord?)

Does it have a desktop phone / controller unit to take calls on and off the air? I'm trying to find out if this is a single or multi line system.

It sounds like a Comrex STAC system. That's the only multiline system I know of made by Comrex, and I've been familiar with Comrex gear for over 20 years now.

Email me privately if you like - broadcast_eng(at)comcast.net

Yes, it has a multiline control surface. I know there are at least two lines (for now.)
