here's the client email sent out by TQR
Hello valued client,
I'm writing to let you know of some major changes that are occurring at WTQR in Greensboro. As a testament to the longevity, strength and value WTQR holds in the Triad, the news I am about to share with you leaked to the local media much faster than anticipated yesterday, and as a result received coverage on many local TV newscasts, newspapers and websites. All of this on a day where the Vice Presidential debate should have dominated the press. Again, a testament to WTQR's dominance and importance in Triad media.
As the Triad media landscape continues to evolve and change, WTQR embraces the charge to provide more fresh and more compelling content for our listeners. As a result and in a major but none the less tough decision on the part of Clear Channel Broadcasting, WTQR morning personality of over 20 years, Aunt Eloise Louise Cotton was relieved of her duties yesterday. The contribution Aunt Eloise made to WTQR is immeasurable. As a key member of a morning show that topped Triad ratings for years, WTQR developed and maintains a reputation as a nationally recognized leader in the world of country music. Thanks to a number of talented individuals, including Aunt Eloise, the WTQR mantle is full of CMA and Marconi awards, along with plaques and trophies provided by hundreds of local charities and organizations WTQR has benefitted and served. WTQR is once again nominated for Large Market CMA station of the year due in part to contributions made by Aunt Eloise.
Make no mistake about it, Aunt Eloise is and always will be one of the most talented radio professionals in this industry. We trust and hope she will take her incredible talents to another market and help to build another radio empire just as she did for WTQR. Change of this caliber is tough, but Modern Media demands "fresh and new". With that we say farewell to the long WTQR chapter penned by Eloise and look forward to bringing fresh sounds and content to WTQR in the coming days and weeks. A fresher, stronger WTQR creates an even better platform to provide unprecedented access to Triad consumers for our clients and charity partners. Thank you for your understanding and continued trust.
If you have further questions or concerns regarding Aunt Eloise please feel free to contact me or Director of Sales, Scott Schutt [EDIT].
Look for another BIG announcement coming very soon.... The future of Triad morning radio is about to change!!!
