Confirmed: Big Mad Morning Show replacing Phil & Brent on KMOD

Perhaps KMOD can promote the Big Mad Moron Show.

More radio that sucks from Cheap Channel. All they seem good at is ruining heritage radio stations. Flush the commode!

Odd comment. BMMS has been beating P&B for awhile. P&B got old while KMOD got younger. BMMS is a much better fit for the station, I think it's a smart move by CC Tulsa.

BMMS replacing Phil and Brent was inevitable. This just could've been handled better.

There has not been a bigger shakeup in Tulsa radio in the last 20 years that's been handled this cryptically.

Producer Brett and Mary Moore staying very quiet as well. Are they still Clear Channel employees? Will they get a show on the Beat?

I find it odd they would replace someone like Phil and Brent with talentless hacks previously found on 92.1. To be honest if the talentless duo had any amount of success on 92.1, they should have left them alone over there. The effective IQ of the average 92.1 listener is much different than 97.5. Their humor is different too. I find this change to be a bad idea for both 92.1 and 97.5 as it disturbs both stations' mornings. We all know CC is generally CHEAP. I would have expected them to just put Bob and Tom or the talentless Lex and Terry on the air instead of moving the 92.1 hacks...

Well, well... It appears Mr. Corbin and the Big Dump Mourning Show's new gig won't be so cool for them after all. Now he has someone that is actually FUNNY to compete with.

I certainly have no reason to defend Corbin, but BMMS has been very successful for 101.5/92.1 for several years. I'm not a huge fan of the show, but I know they have a very large and loyal fanbase, and it's hard to compete with that. Now they're getting a bigger signal on a station that has a format that more closely fits the demo of their listeners, and this is a great move for CC. Phil & Brent were great in the day, but to me their show has been bad for awhile. CC had to make a move with KMOD to get younger in the mornings, and this definitely does it. Now that Star is bringing in Billy's syndicated show, I don't think we will see Phil & Brent again.

As for what happens at 92.1, I think we'll see The Kane Show back on the Tulsa airwaves.

I saw a post on the Star 103 Facebook page where they have invited P&B to come on the station to do a farewell show. Even if they don't do it, that was a cool move on their part. Bring on the changes!

"Class" and Cheap Channel are mutually exclusive terms. It wasn't always that way - in the early days when they first bought KMOD things were a lot different.

True. I think Don is trying to hold on to that legacy and do damage control by putting Corbin on KMOD mornings. The reality is though he would be better off leaving Corbin in his current spot and just giving in to syndication on one station (KMOD). In the end he's actually "breaking" two stations with the move of Corbin.
