Confirmed: Cindy & Ray taking over Star 94 mornings March 23

I'll bet money that Seacrest gets moved to afternoons and they open 10-3 back up for a live jock. LFM will be wanting to be cost-effective and it seems to me like it's the best move.

I agree that move is quite possible. In addition to being cost effective, the station might feel having Seacrest could be a compelling hook for attracting listeners in afternoons.

However, I don't feel it would be a good move because that show is so mediocre. I would love to see Tripp, who fits into an adult CHR format and already has a relationship with Star listeners. As The Flash mentioned, they could pair Tripp with a female, which could work well if the station stuck to its music-hours (non-C&R) clock and allowed them limited banter time, i.e. not a talk show like Cindy & Ray.

Anyone thinking that if people have to choose between Cindy and Ray and Steve and Vikki, they won't be listening to C&R? Star 94 may have signed a death certificate for them. I doubt in this industry they will take the time to put them back on in the afternoon if the morning gig doesn't work out. I used to listen to Ryan's show on KIIS once in a while on-line and I didn't think it was all that great. I found out from someone who worked at Clear Channel that he actually had actors posing as people he called to confront on a segment he called Ryan's Roses. He set the whole thing up to make listeners think he was patching up relationships and it was all scripted with an actor or actress to play the parts of a couple in an argument or hurtful situation. Guess I'm through with listening to Star as I won't pick C&R over S&V.

If I had to make a decision between the two, I am never picking S & V. I do listen to C & R although not my main choice I will tune in during different times throughout the week. I am 40 it seems more relatable to me than S & V which is hokie in my opinion. Steve comes off as a dimbulb and Vicki is well..... I will be nice.

Regarding Ryan and fake bits. HELLO WHAT DO YOU THINK THE BERT SHOW DOES ALL THE TIME. I would guess the vast majority of those voice disguiser calls are fakes with actors.

I don't know if Bert's callers are real or not. If I had to guess, I'd say that it's probably 50/50. But you know what? It's radio...Entertainment...Theater of the mind.

All that stuff that happens on "House"? It's not real either. House is played by a guy named Hugh Laurie.

My point is, if you find the content compelling, more power to ya.

Well, looks like Tripp was yanked off the air before his contract expired, as Rodney reported today (http://blogs.ajc.com/radio-tv-talk/...orning-mash-with-jeff-foxworthy-steve-barnes/) ... reminiscent of the Steve & Vikki fiasco! (but with different management).

I wish I could offer some insider information, but right now my best guess is that the 10:00 am - 7:00 pm programming will be the least-expensive-possible on-air product!

"Follow The Money," right?

It'll be interesting to see if the station can be built back into a major player! I wish them luck!

An obvious, but perfect choice! I think it will be great for Star to get back into the game. I wish that Star would focus the rest of the day playing newer music. There is so much music out there that we NEVER get to hear on the radio in Atlanta, its depressing. I search the internet to hear new music, its pathetic. Anyways Im completely off topic.

But I think that if C&R kicks it up a little bit in the mornings, they will do great. I hope Spoon stays and is a big part of it, I like him.

Im just really over Q100 right now (totally agree with the fake calls) and it will be nice to have an alternative to listen to thats actually decent.

Notice Star's running C&R promos saying "Mornings are back on Star 94." Is that implying that mornings were gone the last two weeks, or the entire tenure of The Morning Mess?

I noticed this too and can't help but think it's some kind of admission that they had stepped in it. Would be interesting to hear some kind of "oops" comment in a Monday morning show premiere liner. With Cindy & Ray they know what they'll be getting in AM drive and they know that the show can produce good Atlanta numbers. To the Morning Mess we say "good riddance" as mornings truly are back on Star.

So I finally heard C&R on the radio this morning. Before when I turned in, they were on a commercial break or playing a song.

Okay so what did I hear but an interview with Taylor Swift. Is it just me or did that interview sound fake? It sounded like they took her from another interview and then ad libbed their voices...like they didnt really talk to her. It seems like they did this once before in the afternoon with a Paris Hilton interview.

Why would that be acceptable?
