As far as Kidd Chris' debut on the morning show is concerned, I find it interesting that people are only comparing/contrasting his competition with P&S but no one is talking about the possibility that he could pull listeners from DeBella.

I don't listen to DeBella, but there was a time that he was a major player in morning radio. Is it because DeBella's show is aimed at an older/different demo that his name hasn't been brought up in this discussion? Or is it because everyone has forgotten about him?

It's a good point. He'll pull from Debella too, but I think he'll really hurt P&S due to the age demo. I am completely convinced he'll be number 1 in the AM before it's all over.

I sometimes wonder if RWS is actually KlassiKKountry from the old board. I think he is, but he doesn't mention anything about Klassik Kountry music anymore in order to successfully maintain his pseudonym.

He makes something like $80 million a year on Sirius (the budget for the show is $100 million a year). Is anyone going to pay him that much on terrestrial? I don't think there's any chance he comes back.

But that's the point. Sirius can't afford to keep him; especially if the merger with XM doesn't go through.

Unless through some miracle Sirius becomes very successful within the next three years, I seriously doubt they will sign him to another contract such as this one.

How can they? Without this merger, both companies will be in serious trouble.

Stern may have no choice but to go back to terrestrial radio and take a pay cut.
