That TV show of his...wasn't it on several years back, briefly, and called, "Hot Tkts"? I just can't seem to tell the difference.

:D

"Hot Tkts"?

For a second I thought you said something else.

Never mind...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw that and read it that way.

That was JD Ryan and Russ Martin...but you MUST know that....

Same basic concept as Hot Tkts/Hot Tv(2nd banana does sketch comedy and interviews on late night tv show). Then only difference is gordon has a sutdio audience.

And yet, he got you to say it. :) (Mike, we know you aren't one of RMS' toadstools. I was just sayin')

Is there any difference between those hucksters planting posts about RMS and Howard's shills calling up national shows to mention his name? America, you be the judge. ;D

There were a couple of shows that could be in play here. The Russ show has been mentioned, but that was a fairly long time ago. The other show is more of a direct reflection from Gordon, and that is Ticket TV. It ran for a few episodes in the mid to late 90s on one of the UHF locals. I can run hot and cold on Gordon's current show, but Ticket TV was....not good, buddy. Also the Mark Cuban Show, which Gordon was a part of as well. Still waiting on the boxed set of that show. :)

Speaking of old TV shows what ever happened to the one Lee Martin?? used to do. Local sports show set in a bar setting and he had local newspaper writers, TV and radio sports guys talking about that weeks events. He also had a music segment with pre-big hit Dixie chicks and Ted Nugent as guest as I remember. Saw lots of folks there that eventually ended up on the Ticket. It was a good show bur seemed to be on a different station every week. I think one of the Spanish stations is still running something with a similar format.

Gordon is an instant punch out for me in any format. ;D

I know the show, Deportes something or other, its on Telemundo every sunday, pretty much a Futbol preshow with muy caliente latina eye candy, too bad InglesTV doesnt get it, id rather see hot chicks on Fox/CBS/ESPN pregame than the pundits and ex-football star *** "commentators" giving their two cents on games of the week.

I believe the show you refer to is called Republica Deportiva.

as far as Gordo goes, --- you're missing out.

a real talent that goes far beyond just being funny.

Thank you letterman, the name escaped me at time of first post...Also, Gordo could use a few hot girls on go-go platforms to spice up the show...

Gordo is brilliant as a stunt boy, 5th wheel on radio but carrying a TV show on his own? He can't do it. I've tried to watch his WFAA show several times and it is T E R R I B L E ! ! !

I have to agree with Spin. Eh, not so much on WFAA.

His voyeuristic, meddlesome schtick may keep him gainfully employed on radio (and then in print), but his production of a TV show is out of whack. The man is obviously talented and witty, but he just needs to stick to being Rich Little, Jr. and leave his slapstick perversion commentary at the house.

Let me point out that I'm a huge Ticket P1 and a fan of Gordo but I've seen nothing on his TV show that indicates he can carry something like this on his own. He's best when playing off those around him and tormenting them. Trying to deliver scripted jokes and bits on TV doesn't work. Maybe with work he'll get better but from what I've seen having Tivo'd his TV show since its inception I simply cannot find the funny in it.

Disclaimer aside, it's just not that good. The annals of broadcasting are littered with notables that have plied their craft for a crossover medium and fell thunderously on their face. Gordon has more of a cerebral banter that requires imagination, and when he's good... he's good. But when it's visual, it's comes across as forced, smarmy and not that great.
