K-Rock dropped the currents out of desperation. Let's prepare for the departure of Howard and beg people to listen after his show. Hey, let's attract the hair bands and the alternative rock of today and see if we can mesh together a nice little happy medium audience. We all know why they did that. It's obvious. Streaming KRock 2 online is just senseless and nearly forgotten by most. At least from the people I've spoken to.
WRAT is at least catering to the man and his music, to a point....
Offensive posts, in your opinion, I welcome the criticism. I'd say more brunt and to the point with my statements and opinions. I'm outspoken, verbal and quite often pushy at times with my viewpoints. Unfortunately, it's who I am. I can say my apologies to the readers who are bothered by offensive statements, but I've said what I said.
Every station nowadays is trying so desperately hard to cater to the women. Do we really think in this example, that G Rock Radio is trying to woo over secretaries during the day? Mix 102.7, for an example, is trying the same idea. However, I hear many more male callers during the midday hours. The demographics are becoming more and more fixated on a notion that women listening are gonna love the songs played out over and over and over again, rush to the advertised businesses to spend, spend, spend, and enjoy hearing somewhat nasal and/or stale jocks.
I just don't see the practically of targeting females 9 out of 10 times. The men are just as able to be an excellent targeting audience.
There's nothing wrong with hard rock.. The alternative stuff (i.e. The Killers, Green Day) gets played on at least 10 different stations I can think of between Philly and NYC, including the shore stations. Hard metal/rock? Maybe under 5, if that.
Just a thought.
