Congrads G Rock Radio!

They have never sounded so great! Live dj's, good alt. music mix while leaving the heavier stuff out (Smart programming move when trying to appeal to women).

-I enjoy listening, anyone else?

Heavier stuff isn't so bad. It'd be nice if they threw more heavier rock into their playlists. Some women are butch too and like it heavy. Instead of catering to just G spots, give us guys a break too.

Is that why WRAT is in the mid two's?

Is that why K-Rock dropped most currents for gold?

And why such an offensive post?

They're not an Active Rock station. They're an Alternative.

They're playing 19 of the top 20 Alternative songs in the country. Any heavy songs that they're ignoring are being ignored on pretty much every Alt. station right now. Look at some of the big album sellers on the Alternative format: Green Day, Jack Johnson, Killers, Dave Matthews, Coldplay. The market just isn't there for nu-metal anymore, at least not at Alternative.

I like the station overall.

I do have 2 gripes though:
-it has NO LOCAL SOUND AT ALL for Ocean County.
-the music is sometimes TOO soft.

K-Rock dropped the currents out of desperation. Let's prepare for the departure of Howard and beg people to listen after his show. Hey, let's attract the hair bands and the alternative rock of today and see if we can mesh together a nice little happy medium audience. We all know why they did that. It's obvious. Streaming KRock 2 online is just senseless and nearly forgotten by most. At least from the people I've spoken to.

WRAT is at least catering to the man and his music, to a point....

Offensive posts, in your opinion, I welcome the criticism. I'd say more brunt and to the point with my statements and opinions. I'm outspoken, verbal and quite often pushy at times with my viewpoints. Unfortunately, it's who I am. I can say my apologies to the readers who are bothered by offensive statements, but I've said what I said.

Every station nowadays is trying so desperately hard to cater to the women. Do we really think in this example, that G Rock Radio is trying to woo over secretaries during the day? Mix 102.7, for an example, is trying the same idea. However, I hear many more male callers during the midday hours. The demographics are becoming more and more fixated on a notion that women listening are gonna love the songs played out over and over and over again, rush to the advertised businesses to spend, spend, spend, and enjoy hearing somewhat nasal and/or stale jocks.

I just don't see the practically of targeting females 9 out of 10 times. The men are just as able to be an excellent targeting audience.

There's nothing wrong with hard rock.. The alternative stuff (i.e. The Killers, Green Day) gets played on at least 10 different stations I can think of between Philly and NYC, including the shore stations. Hard metal/rock? Maybe under 5, if that.
Just a thought.

I beg to differ with you there, Slink. If this were in fact the case, System Of A Down would not have had a Top Ten Modern Rock hit with "B.Y.O.B.", and Slipknot and Mudvayne wouldn't have come very close to cracking the Top Ten with "Duality" and "Happy?", respectively.

G Rock Radio does not represent the true sound of Modern Rock radio. They are a Hot AC / Alternative hybrid. I personally think the market has more than enough Adult Contemporary leaning stations and could use a genuine Modern Rocker that plays the aforementioned edgier bands, but the station is doing well in the ratings (at least 106.3 is), and you can't argue with that.
