Congrats Steve Grosz & EVIT !

Excerpted from the Arizona Socialist Republic story:

The station doesn't have call letters assigned yet, but given that they're high school kids, we're guessing it will be
something like KOMG, KWTF or KLOL.

I realize the writer was just trying to be "cute," but a quick check of the FCC site (does the
Repugnant know how to fact check?) would reveal that examples one and three are in use
(and on FM stations), and while example number two is available, one wonders if it would
pass FCC muster, kind of like how a request for vanity license plate "3M TA3" generally gets
rejected by a state's MVD censor. ;)

It should say full service...2000 watts non commercial at 1800 feet. In comparison "The Beat's" Translator on 92.7fm is 10 watts.
Apache Jct is the city of license so coverage will be good in the S.E. Valley.

I can't wait to listen to the station!!

I looked at the map in the link...Where the heck is the transmitter site...the north face of the Superstitions??

I echo congrats to Steve Grosz and EVIT. I received my training as a high school student at an AM station licensed to the Portland Public Schools way back when. This will be a wonderful resource, both for the students AND the community...I'll make it a point to set a preset in the car when the time gets close!

Hard to say, but Britney Spears's "If You Seek Amy" went right over many people's heads for quite a while before it "suddenly became outrageous" as everyone else started getting it and needed to be changed in sensors.

The coordinates point to the Goldfield Ghost Town (5000 block of North Apache Trail).
