Congrats to Caleb James!!

One of the best personalities to ever hit Altoona is returning as the new morning man on the new Mix 94.7 Congratulations to Caleb, Dave and the entire staff of this new AC in the market.

And sorry "I told you so". ;D

Isn't it Calib, not Caleb? One of the 'best'? I guess that is your opinion. Some good people have come thru the market, he never came to mind, but good luck to him and to the rest, (owners/staff) at the new AC.

One of the best personalities ever to hit Altoona? Are you serious?

Is that you, Caleb?

The best part of this will be listening to Tommy Edwards make fun of him.

Was Caleb still living someplace in the area, or did he come back specifically for this gig? Nothing personal against anyone who calls Altoona their home, but I don't see too many talents breaking down the door to come to Altoona to potentially get shot at. I watch the news and it makes me quite happy I decided to move several years ago. Dog-gone crime is running rampant in the city.

When I read "one of the best personalities", I thought they were talking about Sean McKay. But Caleb is a good guy too. A great deal of talent has come out of the mountain city. I bet McKay and McCaleb would be good together if Sean could learn to be more polite. This Tommy Edwards character...didn't he record "It's All in the Game" back in 58 on the old MGM label?

WOW he even gets a highway marker named after him this year!

Born in Richmond, Virginia, Edwards was an R&B singer and WALLY dj most remembered for his 1958, Billboard No. 1, "It's All in the Game". He sang his hit song on The Ed Sullivan Show, on 14 September 1958. The song was composed by the then future U.S. Vice-President, Charles G. Dawes in 1912, as "Melody in A Major", with lyrics written in 1951 by Carl Sigman.

Although Edwards recorded a number of other songs, none came close to achieving the same level of success. He died after suffering a brain aneurysm in his hometown of Richmond, Virginia, at the age of 47. The liner notes of his 1994 Eric Records release The Complete Hits of Tommy Edwards, claim his death was caused by alcoholism. While the two may be related, there is no conformation of this.

Edwards will receive a Virginia Highway Marker in 2008.

I remember Caleb as one of the few "nice guys" left in radio....He's a talented personality and was unfairly phased out....Good to hear him on the air again....I guess nice guys don't always finish last!
