Congrats to Neal Boortz...

on getting elected to the National Radio Hall of Fame.

Love him or hate him, he has certainly had an impact on Atlanta Radio... It's been a good week for Neal, between the new grandbaby and now the HOF.

Don't forget he's been doing it for 40 years...and only getting paid properly for it for less than the last 20 of them.

Yes, congratulations to Neal on being named as a member of the National Radio Hall of Fame, indeed he has had an impact on Atlanta radio and unwittingly, his timing allowed him to ride the rising tide of talk radio over the past twenty years. It was funny seeing the names that the single replier used to comment to Ho’s Boortz article; it was a walk down Atlanta talk radio history. Unfortunately, his program becomes too repetitive sometimes for Atlanta folks as his various syndicated stations pick up his program in the 10:00 hour. Another annoyance is sometimes part or all of the 12:00 hour is repeated. Any other regular listeners feeel this way?

Regardless of my comments, Neal is looking at the downwind leg of his career. WSB must have some concerns about having someone to replace him when he does finally decide to retire from radio. Any comments or future host suggestions?

By the way, didn’t Boortz and Brian Wilson (talk host) have a radio or television program together at one time? Did I hear correctly that Wilson is his cousin?

That makes 3 for Mr. Boortz. The Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2003, the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame in 2007, and the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2009. Congratulations!

I don't recall that one -- I do recall that he had a short-lived TV show with Ron Sailor on some obscure TV station (Channel 57?) in Marietta while he was still on WGST.

I wonder if there's any cosmic significance to Neal being inducted at the same time as Dr. Demento?
Yes, there is a significance.

I STILL think Boortz and Demento are the same person!
