Congrats to VODood

Chuck, I thought you moved up toward the Toledo way...are you moving back to this area, or doing everything from up that way---

I'm living in the Sandusky area, commuting to Akron. Wife works in Sandusky for the Fed, so we aren't moving.

You definitely have me beat as far as the commute is concerned. You'll have to every once in awhile get a Skyway cheeseburger as you motor your way down W. Market. That was reputed to be the inspiration for the Jimmy Buffett song "Cheeseburger in Paradise."

chuck--welcome back to akron. sr 18 is in pretty decent shape between norwalk and west akron

I'll definately be looking for some good places to eat.

Actually, this is my first time working the Akron market. Worked Cleveland (94-00) and Canton (93-96) at WHBC and WNPQ when it was country. Also, Columbus, Toledo, Sandusky (2x) and Ashtabula.

I'll be heard in the 'Bula market soon as the new imaging VO for 50kw HAC WREO-FM.

I turnpike it almost all the way.

You'll find plenty along 18.

Yeah, you guys are right. Big sucked and Chuck is the bomb.
Yes we can!

H...

I don't believe anyone posted a negative about Jim. They just ignored your question. And no one posted that "Chuck is the bomb". Why so edgy?

My understanding is that Jim was/is a talented producer and very well liked. If you are concerned about Jim you contact him.

To clarify, I did live in the Toledo area (Perrysburg) Jan 05 til Oct 08. I was downsized by Cume-less April 08.

To further clarify:the subject of this thread is "Congrats to VODood." I originally posted this to congratulate Chuck on being hired by Rubber City at a time when others are cutting staff in case lots.

I know nothing else about the behind the scenes folks at the Akron Radio Center. I email Scott Wynn and Sue Wilson on occasion and during high school football season am in the pressbox announcing for my local high school and at times will share the mic with Tim Daugherty.

I knew nothing about Big Jim and if he has a real passion for the business, I wish him well.
