Congrats to Lanigan, Malone, Chip, Munch, Doc, Tracy, and all interns involved (can't forget them!) on the award.

And I agree with you to a point Chuck--Majic's presentation is really really poor. But as of late--since May--their music content has recovered from the big drop in quality and numbers it took during Skippy's reign as PD.

I'm not saying Meg is the greatest ever--the personalities are still obviously voicetracked at times (even the always-excellent Chuck Collier sounds distant), but the music programming is somewhat enjoyable. (Two weeks ago, I heard "Mendocino" by the Sir Douglas Quintet and "19th Nervous Breakdown" by the Stones--former WMJI staples but missing in recent years. Welcome back.)

I was in Cleveland last weekend. Listened to WMJI from Sandusky to Lakewood (LHS Class of 86). It was a WIXY Lost Hits Weekend. I was listening for 30 minutes before I knew that, and that's only because the TOH told me so. Then another 20 minutes went by before I heard a jock mention the weekend - into a stopset. No theme weekend imaging, no jocks framing songs. It was terrible. Musically, nothing special. And if it was a WIXY weekend, of anything, how about some old WIXY audio? WMJI has LOADS of it. I know because Doc and I imaged the last WIXY Reunion in 1997. It's all in storage. To top it off they're using music talk beds from 1998 (KRTH Brown Bag package). Talk about burnt. And then there's dead segues, at least 6 in an hour. Horrible. Is it so tough to do at least a speed break over an intro to tease a QTR hour or the theme weekend, the morning show, anything? Terrible radio. If it weren't for L&M WMJI would be another format tomorrow.<P ID="signature">______________

I don't disagree. I just was happy that some older Elvis was being added back in, and they were reaching farther into the library.

But the presentation is absolutely dreadful--quality people employed notwithstanding.

Bland apparently is OK for them. Good luck.

I listen about an hour a week.

We had this on The Mighty Blog of Fun(tm) Thursday evening:

(First! Fast! Accurate! Why do we bother? :D)

Congrats to L&M and their merry morning crew!

Is Old Akronite Honest, Fair, and Everywhere? Or something to that effect?
Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I too dont blame the talented people working there (TR, L&M, Chip, Munch, Daune). They just do what they're told.
