Congrats to WRCN!!!

You continue to defy logic and reach new lows!!! Listeners will be hosting the morning show for the next month. This iconic station has now officially been destroyed! Well done folks!

I was wondering what the heck they were doing this morning. They've taken "March Madness" to a whole, new level. ;D

According to their web site, the former trainwreck of a morning show, the Real Radio Show, will be on 970 AM in NYC, Saturday nights from 11:00 pm-midnight, starting March 23.
Apparently the show won't be live (was it live on WRCN?), as they will be taping the show the prior Tuesday at 7:00 pm.

When the Real Radio Show was on Saturday nights on RCN, it was taped. When it moved to mornings, I believe it was live, they had an in-studio webcam. I can only wonder what they will talk about on 970 AM.

God, I hope they continue to do this, ::)

Can you guys do it in all the time slots?

The station is a mess! They had some momentum going with the change in music and they f'ed it up by allowing those amateurs do the morning show. Where is the leadership? Call Capt. Kevin and beg him to come back!!

Perhaps he realized the Good Ship WRCN was taking on too much water

that ship was taking on water LONG before this day, these people just tossed a cement ring to a drowing station. WRCn hasnt been anything worth listening to since it was 943 and 1039

The station is completely unlistenable. Off track DJ's, music is completely lost and off the wall. The Shark seems to be doing a much better job. Perhaps they should buy 103.9 and simulcast on it.

As someone who grew up with KRock, personally I prefer RCN. At least they're trying with the "harder" rock and newer music. The Shark right now is nothing more than BAB for 30 year olds...predictable and boring.

Hey, wait a minute. I may not be 30 anymore, but I am predictable and boring and proud of it! Now, excuse me while I surf for WHLI...

Way to go gamit! I'm with you man. BAB is to big of a wuss to even try playing older Metallica. Also I'm giving credit to 99.1PLR, heard the new Alice In chains Hollow the other day! I still give credit to the Shark for at least playing rock post 1989. At least some stations are waking up from grandpa rock coma. ;D

The Shark is a much more together station at this point than 'RCN. Music selection, imaging, promotions, leadership all superior. If they put together a solid morning show, they'll eclipse 'BAB, and 'RCN will continue to be a station that doesn't really matter. That's a shame because for many years 'RCN did matter!

Yes, "jump right in" and "hard to use an ipod with these fins" are brilliant. End of the day it's about music. You want a rock station that plays Pantera or Flatboy Slim? Hmm.

If they have any listeners once they're done with this "Listeners do the morning show" deal...It won't matter what they play...And personally...I prefer "Fatboy Slim"...but that's me!
