Congratulations Atlanta Board ... WE'RE NUMBER TWO!!! ...

We FINALLY passed Dallas-Fort Worth (not fair - TWO cities) ... to become the SECOND-busiest Board on Radio-Info! Now we're within a few thousand posts of Boston (damned bean-eaters!)

Special credit to Roddy, whose "Radio Truisms" post & subsequent string probably took us over the top!

Another party???? Hmmm???

Maybe we can pass Boston if we all start guessing Steve & Vikki's salaries! I'll say $1.2M for Steve & $400K for Vikki!

BTW, heard former Star 94 afternoon traffic babe Wendy Threatt on WSB-AM today - that's a GREAT addition! She was underutilized @ Star and unceremoniously bounced for being "too old!" Fortunately the WSB listeners don't care how old you are ... they just want great traffic info!

Congratulations, Board ... we rock! ;D

Don't tell McRadio about our performance on this board--but if you do...here's a playlist he might like considering his comments on some other threads on the ATL board:

"Pictures of Lily" by The Who
"Imaginary Lover" by ARS
"Dancing With Myself" by Billy Idol or Generation X
"Turning Japanese" by The Vapors
"Seether" by Veruca Salt
"I Touch Myself" by The Divinyls
"She Bop" by Cyndi Lauper
"Be My Girl (Sally)" by The Police

Just Roddy? I am nearing 1000 posts (start the party planning now.) In addition I started the best discussion in months about Rock 100.5 begging for advertisers. Lastly, the way Zakk Tyler is under-performing, I should be elected PD before the Spring book comes out.

I think Vicki makes more than $400K. I don't think there salaries are equitable but closer than you suggest.

I'd like to thank Inside your head for his many contributions. Reading his posts and trying to figure out what they mean give me a headache every time, though.

Neil Millman is nearing 1,000 posts. But if you include the posts of The Other Neil and The Real Other Neil, he might just be the champion.

Take that McRadio with your carpetbagging comments criticizing our board due to your own inferiority complex and your boards inability to compete.

Thanks, to Rodney Ho for being one of the finest radio reporters in all the land, who always give us just enough nuggets of info to keep us coming back for more. Kind of like a rat going back for more crack.

Thanks to Roddy for his stable guiding force i making this the most thought provoking board of them all. Without him this project would not have been completed.

Thanks to Neil for his endless crusading for the 92.9 Radio Atlant PD job. May the holy grail be yours.

Thanks to the Regular Guys for providing a reent push on this board to take us to number two.

Thanks to Vicki Locke. Who knew one blood clot could affect so many people.

Thanks to the folks at Clear Channel for destroying a cluster and giving us so many unlistenable choice but yet so many post complaining about them.

Thanks to Inside Your Head for all you wasteful posts and one track mind. I finally figured you out. You are none other than the infamous Lannie Fram(sic). Disguising your college youthfulness and love for Leslie and Sean. No college student would claim Leslie and Sean are cool unless you were a 50 yer-old man posing as a college student to show that your wife, Leslie Fram, still has cache in this market.

Thanks to Tom Taylor for his technical expertise and cold cut throwing abilities.

No thanks to any of the urban stations who contribute almost zilch to this board. Has there ever been a Kiss 104 posting.

No thanks to the Fish and j93, see the above.

No thanks to Brent for placing us with this satelite channel posing as a terestrial channel, True Oldies. Scott Shannon what a fraud.

And thanks to all of the radio posers, wannabees, and knowitalls (including myself) who work with me at the finest station in the city, WTF?

OMG the future is here. Radio posters bragging about the market they listen to. Over a day since I commented about non-radio people discussing radio from their computers at work and some of you are still having hissy fits. Yes there's some interesting conversation here but also topics that start with radio and end up at the waffle house. I'm willing to bet that for years some of you have come up with some of the most mean spirited comments about stations and personalities imaginable on this board. This particular board is famous for it. One little comment and you're about to attack Boston in Civil War uniforms. What the hell would some of you do if you read comments about your performance on the internet? I'm not talking about normal criticism but things like "gets paid for doing nothing" from posters who really have no idea what goes on in a radio station on a daily basis. I'm sure the Atlanta radio community that doesn't post here but follows it like a soap opera is laughing at some of your reactions now.

I'd think it's safe to say that we're all laughing now. ;D

McRadio:

We're not laughing with you, we're laughing at you. To wit:

Over a day since I commented about non-radio people discussing radio from their computers at work...

Yeah, there oughta be a law.

Yes there's some interesting conversation here but also topics that start with radio and end up at the waffle house.

'Scuse us while we drift off-topic...I bet you're a hoot at parties.

I'm willing to bet that for years some of you have come up with some of the most mean spirited comments about stations and personalities imaginable on this board.

Does this count? I hope so.

This particular board is famous for it.

C'mon, you're giving us the big head...

One little comment and you're about to attack Boston in Civil War uniforms.

Oh puhleeeze. You must not be that familiar with demos in the ATL. There's more Yankees here today than when Sherman came through with his Zippo.

What the hell would some of you do if you read comments about your performance on the internet?

Probably the same thing as if I had read it in a newspaper, magazine, or other Old Media of your choice--build a bridge and get over it.

I'm not talking about normal criticism but things like "gets paid for doing nothing" from posters who really have no idea what goes on in a radio station on a daily basis.

[citation needed]

I'm sure the Atlanta radio community that doesn't post here but follows it like a soap opera is laughing at some of your reactions now.

Great! At least we don't have a 2-drink minimum.

This post from ME :D moves us within 5880 posts of the Boston Market, which is not to be confused with Waffle House, Mr. (or Miss) McRadio!!!

Although you should show some respect to us Southerners ... Waffle House is always capitalized!!!!

I am rededicating myself to the singular goal of generating enough craziness & non-thought-provoking dialogue to balance the bashing and the important stuff ... and drive McRadio crazy in the process!!!

ONWARD TO NUMBER ONE!!!!
