Good morning
I told my friends that I would never post on this website, but this needs to be addressed. Although I am no longer in the Rutland Market, (I work at Boston's #1 station, WJMN JAM'N 94.5)I still feel that credit needs to go where credit is due...I am writing this to you all this morning, to Congratulate Jack Healey on winning Vermont Sportscater of The Year AGAIN (I believe for a record 18th time & Congrats to you to George Commo, you shared this award with Jack this year). Believe me when I tell you, Rutland is blessed to have a true radio talent , like Jack Healey! Dedicated, professional, driven, and always there for the community. I understand that his latest accomplishment has been un-recognized by the airwaves, the print, and the general public. Well, people of Rutland, and Vermont, PLEASE take a moment to congratulate all the efforts of Jack! He deserves it! It's ok to give credit where credit is due.

Just my 2 cents, comment back, positive or negative, it doesn't matter.

Thank you

Vince Allo
DJVINCE1...YES, Its a business!!

Awesome! I've only had the privilege of working with Jack (kinda sorta) once, a few years ago when I produced the Shrine Game feed. Jack could do major-market play-by-play if he wanted to. He's got the pipes and the pace. Congratulations!

Vince, I remember when you and Jack came to BHS to call a Rutland game for WSYB. Glad to see you made it to Boston. When are you on Jam'n? I'll have to listen.

Jack Healey deseves the honor, as a great broadcaster and a class act. Gives me a chance again to tell the story of how he called me out on the air when I was producing a UVM hockey game and didn't realize that an element that I thought was in cue was actually going over the air. One of the nuances of the WVMT console that I didn't notice at the time, since it differed from the other three in the building.

Will,
Oh the memories??? As far as JAM'N goes, I am not "ON" JAM'N, I am "AT" JAM'N, doing the Sales and Marketing, and what a great group it is here!! You are so right about Jack, he is a class act, and a true professional. I've learned so much from him over the years. He is the best...just ask him, haha. I'm kidding! But one of the things that makes him tick is, "respect". He isn't one to search for applause or standing ovations, in fact, he is so humble, he is probably going to blush if he reads this. I have a great deal of respect for him and his ability, although we disagree on EVERYTHING regarding our favorite teams, he is still one to learn alot from. I miss working with him very much, and he knows it!

Sales? Not a bad career move, although I'd like to hear your mixing make it on the air. Between you and Jackson Blue, looks like the Vermonters are taking over CC/Boston.

Add to the list of accolades for Mr Healey, being inducted into the VPA Hall of Fame! He along with Mill River's Shirley Bruso. She was a great coach and mentor, and Jack is simply the best in the biz. And of course I'm serious, and stop calling me Shirley! haha, all of you fans of "Airplane" movies. 2 of the Rutland area's best and classiest, congrats!

Congrats to Jack on the article in the Rutland Herald, and for his latest recognition, and great job by Tom Haley on the job he did writing the article. Goes without saying, You're the best "Heal"!

Have a great day everyone,

Vince

Great article in the Herald. After 4 years in Vermont, I finally met Jack in person recently. Everything in this thread is true - class act all the way.
