Congratulations Saints & Saints radio question?

Congratulations Saints, what a night to hear Jim Henderson call that close game.
If anyone can verify this then please do...am I correct that NFL rules do not allow the four remaining teams in the playoffs (AFC & NFC Championship teams & Superbowl teams) to continue their syndicated radio network but does allow the flagship station (in this case obviously WWL) to continue it's play-by-play/local coverage (Jim & Hokie and crew) on Saints game broadcast.

Anyone please chime in, what a ride for the city and team.

According to what I've read, No one except listeners to WWL radio will hear Jim and Hokie next week (and I'm guessing spanish listeners will get the game on WFNO as they are the spanish flagship).. they will have to accept the feed from Westwood one to feature the saints and who wins out of the bears vs seahawks game.

I couldn't find an official line somewheres, but found this instead:

Now if you could get Truck to do the cajun french version on KLEB/KLRZ :)

thats crazy! they said the same thing about the lsu tigers in 03. yet all the lsu affiliates covered the game. i will dig up some info and bust this myth.

i found this from nfl.com notice you can hear the broadcasts of both teams...

http://www.real.com/partners/nfl/fieldpass.html?brand=nfl&pcode=nfl&rsrc=nfl

ps i have sirius so i can hear these guys weekly. they ALWAWS say the EXCLUSIVE home of moday night football. and the EXCLUSIVE home of the playoffs..yet i checked wjbo this past weekend. the saints were on as were they on 1130 kwkh. that just means they are thee only nationwide feed on regular radio.

ok i am right from matt kenedy on wjbo...just got this email. i asked ;D

Yes….the Saints game w/ Jim and the gang will be on WJBO.

I think westwood gets the super bowl exclusive, no affiliates at that point but the flagship keeps the broadcast

also not true..the affiliates get the superbowl also. where are you guys getting this info from..???

why would they offer this..

Follow all the playoff action, including Super Bowl XLI.

Hear exclusive home team radio announcers call the
playoffs and Super Bowl.

thats the nfl league pass. again westwood one ALWAYS SAYS EXCLUSIVE COVERAGE.. to whatever they are broadcastining. exclusive NATIONAL rights..

the dead hose just came alive again..

from matt kennedy--wjbo

Just got off the phone with CBS Radio.....I cannot carry the Saints
call....gotta carry their call. THAT SUCKS!

you guys are right.BUT wwl reaches half the united states!! so you can still hear hokie and the gang ;D

Here in Hattiesburg I have been able to hear from all angles--the flagship (WWL), WW1 (WHSY-950), and a local affiliate (WMXI-98.1). In areas of town where I have to rely on a portable receiver, somebody gets cancelled out. I do not get WWL well inside my apartment. WHSY is hard to catch at times, same for WMXI, as well as additional commercial spots on 98.1. But I did notice WOAI carry one of the games through WW1. So if you are a Saints fan outside the confines, and if they do not have a Spurs conflict (not hearing THEM I think is what threw me), check it out. Sorry if this seemed to ramble a bit, but I just thought I would stick my 2 cents in. Geaux Saints!!!!!

I do have one serious comment.

Will WWL be forced by Westwood one and the NFL to block the webcast of the Saints game. It can be blocked from the WWL site, but there are people who webstream it , who pay for it.. Will they also be forced to hear Westwood one's version or Jim and Hokie's version?

wwl doesnt webstream the saints games. they play re runs of on deman content. like whats on wsmb..er..wwwl. you can actually hear the saints broadcast in new york..if you have sirius ;D or the nfl total access audio from real networks.

plus matt kenedy mentioned the westwood one deal on the radio this morning. he mentioned no saints audio on wjbo. but also mentioned you could hear it on wwl . he actually mentioned wwl on wjbo!
