Congress Defunds NPR

It should be an embarrassment to the broadcasting industry that so many of you who post on these boards are apparently willing to consider ignorance as an option - and that's exactly what you are doing, however else you try to dress it up.

Of course you aren't alone, you are heavily represented in our federal and state legislatures, so maybe we are embarking on a great national experiment in ignorance.

But then NPR has nothing to do with education, frankly.

As George Orwell understood, keeping the populace ignorant is necessary for depriving it of power. He would have recognized today’s sustained attack on all things intellectual, though not necessarily its source.
