Connecticut AM Station Changing Formats

All though I'm not allowed to say which one at this time, a Connecticut AM Station will be changing formats by the end of the month. I'll give you two hints. It is not WXCT and it's not owned by a major corporation.
______________

WLAT-AM 910 maybe? I hope they could change. I haven't listened to them since the "Jamz 910" days.

It's not 910 WLAT. I doubt they'll change unless they are sold or if an FM Spanish station comes on. They won't change because at 5KW day and night they are the most powerful Spanish station. Even though I don't speak/understand Spanish I think WLAT is a better station than the others in the area - WRYM 840, POWER 990, WPRX 1120, and Galaxia 1380, so I don't want them to flip.

On the other hand I also think we could use a third talk station or another oldies station, one that plays the 1950s and 60s stuff that DRC-FM doesn't touch.
______________

910 may be a good station, but why many radio listeners in Hartford rather listen to 1270 coming out of Springfield?

Well not to dive into Jay's little game here, but 1270 and 1490 in Springfield were both recently sold to Davidson Media.

And Davidson is now Programming WXCT in house, for the most part...but the format change Jay is speaking of will be a good move for the station that is making said change. To some degree it will be filling a niche.
______________

Well, there's Quinnipiac U.-owned WQUN...how do you define major corporation?
Is Tanger (WTMI) major? :) Just kinda scanning around the AM page of 100kw.com
for Conn....we'll see.
Will be checking out some CT radio next few days as I'll be in the Nutmeg state.
