WTYD 100.9 in New London flipped from AC to Oldies as KOOL 101 WKNL in February, just months after 102.3 abandoned the format.
A dispute over unpaid LMA payments leads to a court-ordered eviction of El Principe Communications from the airwaves of WNTY 990. El Principe retaliates by damaging equipment, leaving the station inoperable from the middle of September until the end of September. At which point the station began stunting with a mix of R&B Oldies, Disco Music, and Caribbean Music until a new LMA could be signed. Southington High School Football returned to the airwaves as did the Sunday Ethnic and Religious Programming.
In mid-October BLAZE Communications signed an LMA with ADD Radio for WNTY. Blaze Communications would program the station 72 hours/week (6AM-6PM) as BLAZE 990 with Hip-Hop/R&B/R&B Oldies, and Caribbean Music all day Saturday. Blaze Communications is headed by former WNEZ JAMZ 910 PD Philip Duncan.
2001
WZMX 93.7 flips from Jammin' Oldies to Hip-Hop in March.
Michael Gerardi sells WINY 1350 in Putnam to morning man Gary Osbrey in March.
WLAT and its Spanish format move to the more powerful 910 frequency. 1230 goes Spanish News/Talk (simulcast from WNNY in NYC) and takes on the former calls of 910 WNEZ in May.
Candido Carrelo sells WDJZ 1530 to Principle Broadcasting. Station flips from a simulcast of WFNW 1380 to Caribbean Programming.
Charlie Profit is hired as General Manager of WNTY in July. Blaze Communications LMA is terminated after non-payment of LMA payments, numerous attempts to sell the radio station, and programming the station outside of the agreed upon LMA times. The Caribbean Music on Saturdays is removed immediately replaced by Sports Programming. The plug was finally pulled on BLAZE 990 in November after a DJ left the station in the middle of the Apple Valley Classic High School Football Game, eventually leading to a "phone off the hook tone" going out over the air until the GM came down and switched the station over to FOX News Channel, which remained on the station 24/7 (except for NCAA Football and Basektball on Saturdays and NFL Football and Ethnic Programming on Sundays).

WAVZ 1300 drops its long-time Standards format to go All Sports as 1300 The Zone in January.
Classical WCCC 1290 changes its calls to WTMI in January.
WHCN 105.9 flips from Classic Rock to Rock AC as The River 105.9 in February.

WLAT 910/WNEZ 1230 are acquired by new company Freedom Communications in May. They later take over WKND 1480 after making their owner a partner in the company. They briefly LMA WPRX 1120.

In Mid-March WXLM 102.3 in Stonington and WMOS 104.7 in Montauk swapped dial postitions. WLMX's news-talk format and calls moved over to 104.7 and WMOS's Classic Rock format moved over to 102.3, which became WMOS.
Gois Broadcasting buys WKND 1480 and improves the station technically - eliminating the frequency drift, improving the 500 watt daytime signal, and making use of the low power night time power in March.
Former WKND owner Richard Weaver-Bey died in May.
Budget cuts hit WDRC-FM. The station is Voice-Tracked outside of Morning and Afternoon Drive. Longtime PM Driver Doug Taylor is out. Larry Wells moves into PM Drive. Floyd Wright is moved from Overnights to Middays.

Colligan remains host of WTIC 1080's The Tag Sale in November. Stan Simpson's show is also canceled at WTIC.
The Ryan Gorman Show, the last local show on WELI 960 is elimated in December.
ESPN Radio launches an experimental FM station in Bristol. WX4ESPN operates on 98.1 with 134 Watts Analog and 13 watts HD. HD-2 is ESPN Depotes. HD-3 alternates between the 5 ESPN O&O stations. "98.1 Campus Radio" signal gets out pretty well.
2009
Red Wolf Broadcasting Acquires WURH 104.1 from the Aloha Station Trust. Station goes back to Modern Rock WMRQ "Radio 104.1". A new studio is built in Glastonbury in May.
Mike Stevens moves from Nights to the DRC-FM Morning show with Jerry Kristafer in July. Grahame Winters takes over nights. The station is now automated overnights.
WATR 1320 adds John Gibson, Alan Colmes, and FOX News Radio to its line-up of Oldies Music in August. (Their website still doesn't reflect the changes by years end).

Station is Tropical La Bomba 97.5, which officially launched in November. It is the first FM Spanish station in Hartford since WLVH 93.7 died in the late 80s.
WCCC AM 1290 picks up the syndicated Don Imus Show for mornings in December.
