Connecticut DTV

Over the past few days, I installed a UHF roof antenna for DTV reception here just north of Poughkeepsie, and find I get all the Albany market UHF-DTV signals, most of the New York City U's most of the time, and the two local channels. However, WFSB (33) is the ONLY Connecticut DTV signal I've received, and they're solid 24/7. I find this a bit odd, since the FCC service area maps show that WVIT (35) and WEDH (45) should actually be a little bit stronger here than WFSB. I get some signal, but not enough for WVIT or WEDH to lock. I get no signal level at all from WTIC (31). How do the Connecticut DTV signals stack up throughout Southern New England?

I'm in Middletown CT and here's how DTV is at the moment and know that it is not always like this, and I have two different configurations that I use, one allows me to pull in Springfield FM & TV as it's priority, the other New Haven. I currently have it set for Springfield.

(using the analog numbers as the channel order)

WFSB 33 is normally strong here, but the last couple day has not been giving me a signal better than 49%
WTNH 10 does not normally come in with this setting, it's currently about 38% signal
WUVN 46 is at 89%
WTXX 12 is at 78%
WWLP 11 is at 9% (I can get them when I tweak the antenna again)
WEDH 45 is at 89%
WHPX 26 is at 55% but somehow they always come in even with a signal as low as 30% (snr is at 19.5)
WVIT 35 is at 91%
WGGB 55 is at 70%
WGBY 58 is at 9% (I can get them when I tweak the antenna again)
WCTX 39 is at 9% (I have never been able to get them)
WTIC 31 is at 93%

I still have analog capacity of course, not going to give details on signal strength except when necessary to indicate a very weak signal:

3 WFSB, 8 WTNH, Not getting 19 WCDC which is odd, I usually get something from them, 20 WTXX, 22 WWLP, 24 WEDH would be there, but signed off at midnight, 38 WHCT, 48 WRNT, 50 WRDM, 53 WEDN (very poor), 59 WCTX (lots of ghosting and signal distortion - almost looks off channel), 61 WTIC, 67 WSHM (I can usually tell it's there, tonight I can't)

Me with an indoor "bat wing" antenna, sitting on top of my second floor bedroom window, south end of New Britain:

WFSB-DT (CBS) Hartford - Usually about 2/3 strength, recordable if necessary
WTNH-DT (ABC) New Haven - Usually about 2/3, there most of the time
WUVN-DT (UNI) Hartford - About 50% strength, cuts out one in a while
WTXX-DT (CW) Waterbury - About 80% strength, really good
WEDH-DT (PBS) Hartford - Around 90% strength, my strongest local signal
WHPX-DT (ION) New London - About 50% strength, improved with WHPX moving to 26
WVIT-DT (NBC) New Britain - About 85% strength, really good
WCTX-DT (MY) New Haven - About 2/3 strength, usually there
WTIC-DT (FOX) Hartford - About 85% strength, really good

My Insignia digitial converter box tries to lock on WPXQ-DT (ION) channel 17 from Block Island/Providence. I could get them if I move my antenna some, but don't feel like messing up the other stations. Besides, 98% of their programming is identical to WHPX-DT anyways.

I cant speak for WVIT, but WTIC is operating with reduced power (and a STA, surf the FCC site)... until they abandon analog.

Still no signal here in Poughkeepsie from WTIC on ch 31. I guess the reduced power explains it, along with possible interference from analog ch 31 WPXN in New York.

This morning I finally received WUVN on channel 46 with four sub-channels. They started breaking-up at 8am, and were gone by 8:20am. Ch 18.3 shows up as "WUTH". What is this? Not in FCC TV database.

I also briefly pulled through WEDH several days ago... with either 3 or 4 sub channels. Only last a few minutes.

I've not been able to pull through WVIT-DT yet. Their analog is very weak here.

Still, WFSB-DT is always in with no break-up.,.... just those terrible pixels on ch 3.4, which makes it impossible to watch.

18.3 is a similcast of WUTH-LP channel 47, which is the Hartford affiliate of Telefutura, which (at least among my circle of friends) is also known as Univison Dos. 18.1 and 18.2 are the same because 18.2 is a simulcast of WHTX-LP Channel 43 Springfield, which simulcasts WUVn.
