Connecticut loses TheCool TV on Monday 7/15

WCTX TV 59 in New Haven has officially announced they are dropping their affiliation with COOL-TV effective Monday July 15th. The following Message appears on COX Cable Channel 21 if you do not have a cable box:

Effective July 15, 2013
LIN TV has ceased
operation of Cool-TV.

If you have any questions, please
call LIN TV Corporation at
401-454-2880.

Up until a couple months ago Channel 21 was CSPAN, which if you didn't have a cable box moved to Channel 15 and a message about that was on Channel 21 until recently. Cool-TV is Channel 812.

TheCoolTV is done for. With only six or seven affiliates left, and half the day being Time Life infomercials, I'd rather see a test pattern.

That probably means its also gone on LIN's other stations in Indiana, Mass. and Western Michigan. It's about as much of a network now (four affiliates if you lose all the LIN stations) as the many small Hispanic 'networks' in California and Texas subsisting on dial-a-psychic shows and worn out old Mexican public domain films. Once Journal dumped them for non-payment, it was a black mark that kept away all the other station groups.

WWLP in Springfield, Mass dropped it too a while back. Another LIN station.

It's been replaced with Bounce TV on WPRI 12.2 in Providence (another LIN station).

It won't be in Connecticut as Bounce is already on LIN Sister Station WTNH 8.2 - Maybe this will be the opportunity for Connecticut to get ME-TV. Only a small portion of Connecticut gets ME-TV. Only areas that get WZME/Bridgeport on cable get ME-TV part time. I also think U-VERSE carries the national feed on ME-TV too.

I live in NJ, 80 miles away from Bridgeport and we get WZME on Verizon Fios. Funny how most cable systems in CT don't carry it.

TheCool TV never stood a chance. If people want to watch music videos, they go to Youtube/VEVO. Watch what they want, when they want it and in A LOT better quality.
