Connecticut Radio - what's in store?

WKCI PD Chaz Kelly is out.
WURH PD Becky Pohotski is out
WKSS promotions manager is handling WKCI promotions
WPLR has a new PD
WDAQ has a relatively new PD

So what's going to happen? Who's in line to run KCI and URH. Any news of programming changes?

are you sure you don't hear satellite on off switch chirping lol

i don't know who i feel worse for. the people who got fired, or those that are left to do more with less (less IS more, right?). i am sad for the entire industry, and those who have spent countless hours fighting for it. to all that have lost their jobs - i am so very sorry. this was never a business for bankers - and that is exactly what it is now. keep your chins up - we're in for a ride.

It was always a business. It's just that now the inmates are running the asylum. ::)
Now everything is sponsored. Even time checks. It's ridiculous! The Sales Depts of all stations are running the show. There is no quality control over programming. PD's have lost their power to stand up to management and say no you can't simulcast a remote from a new strip club on the AM news station. LMAO ::)

Video - are you laughing or crying? the only thing i've known from this business, is that people actually doing the work, day in and day out, are the ones who suffer...the 'good guys.'

as i said before - i am sad for all of the broadcasters in this business who love radio. those that would rather touch a local community than be a huge star nationally. to those that have raised the money for local charities, did cheesey jokes, let someone know about a traffic accident, even read the horoscopes...thank you. sorry that your passion has turned into this mess.

I believe that local stations should have local talent on the air. And that corporations like Cheap Channel should not be allowed to pipe in national syndicated programming to replace local shows. Radio has become to cost cutting. Corporations are destroying this country. Even stations that claim they are local are not. They try to deceive the listener.
But in the end they will pay the price with lack of listenership.
