Connecting a Barix Exstreamer 1000 to a asx stream

Hi,

Has anyone had success connecting a Barix Exstreamer 1000 to a .asx stream and if so what firmware are you running? The ULR works within VLC player but the Barix doesn't not connect to the stream. Basically, trying capture an online stream and redirect to the analog outs of the Barix Exstreamer.
