South Dakota Connoisseur Sells Another SD Cluster

What the Radio Insight article doesn't say(probably because the information isn't readily available) is how much the station management is paying to acquire the cluster and how much of that will be coming from loans. How much success Brookings Radio, LLC will ultimately have in running these stations may well wind up being determined by if they will earn enough money from advertising sales to pay back at least the interest on those loans.

and if youd read more of it, youd see the new owners are LONG time employees, they clearly know what theyre doing and think theyll be fine.. one is the manage and was the sales manager.

Actually, I did read that and was therefore well aware of their success as station managers. That said, the radio industry as a whole is in a slide and believing that one is going to be successful does not necessarily mean that one will be successful. *That* will take both hard work and a lot of luck!

The buyers know the market well. They are not depending on "luck" at all; the key is having financing that is payable within a good margin of the cash flow of the properties and allows them to cut out corporate overhead and charges against operating income.

Your prognosis works if everything in the market stays (relatively) the same tomorrow and in the future as it is today. And your analysis may be right on target. However, I've lived long enough to see things that I thought would outlast me (because they had good management or for other reasons) turn to dust so I'll maintain my skepticism.
