Conroe gets a LPFM

The City of Conroe has been granted 104.5, 8 watts at 103 meters. Transmitter is just west of Willis near the intersection of 1097 and Thompson Road. This is the first of two planned LPFMs for The City of Conroe and will cover the Lake Conroe area north of town. The second station on 106.3 (assuming it is granted) will cover the city proper.

While on the subject of Conroe, has there been any sign or news about the Air1 translator on 95.3? It was granted a little over a year ago.

I thought 100meter high antenna was max for a LPFM station???

LPFMs may have antennas higher than 30 meters as long as coverage is the equivalent of 100 w at 30 meters. Higher antenna, lower power.

Will higher up and lower power increase coverage?
If coverage is the same, why go higher up?

Haven't heard a peep, Frog. K237FS was granted in December 2013, and IIRC, the CP was good for 3 years with expiration in December 2016. With that kind of window, EMF may not be in a hurry to get it on the air. I don't recall even hearing of tower construction to this point.
