we could conserve power by having all NYC radio-tv stations sign off. WNYC-FM could be allowed to remain on with vital info. this plan would also reduce hot air by removing talk gasbags and jocks from the air until the heat wave passes. (seriously--if a blackout happened I wonder how many NYC radio-tv stations would again be caught with no generator or a generator that does not work! that happened in past blackouts! and this is the #1 radio market--- supposedly!)

I guess the only station which should be allowed to remain on would be WNYE-FM--with mayor Mike telling us all what to do! (yes--I think the heat is getting to me!!!!!)

An interesting thing Jack is doing today is playing all acoustic - i.e. unplugged - music today.

It's topical and humorous. A lot better than playing Christmas music, IMHO.

i agree, i think it's unique sounding and is a great way to pass the hot office workday! ;D i'm over sleepy elevator music at work!

Whats even better is that 107.1 The Peak - WXPK did this EXACT same feature the day before... I guess imitation is the best compliment, but if I was The Peak i'dd be aggrivated.
