Funny how they carried that but not MSC (Midwest Sports Channel) which had the Twins and North Stars. MSC was considered a "premium" channel in those days and Continental never carried it until 1994. But since Hubbard partially owned PSUM (the same folks who owned at the time KSTP..they still do..among other entities) thats why it was there
PSUM was shut down in 95

Minneapolis side had MSC ;)

And after all these years, CNN is STILL on 3 (SD). TBS is on 7 and both are in digital basic (lifeline).

WGN is no longer in lifeline.

simple answer....wasn't carried

longer answer...in 1991-1992 KXLI was infomercials and some religious shows (with home shopping network...which was already carried). There was a owner that had programming called "Star Television Network" but that lasted all of 4 months.

Part of the reason could also be the fact the tower was in Big Lake and cable headends at the time probably gathered the signals OTA...so why bother try and get a station that is 65+ miles away that only carried infomercials?

On the Minneapolis side I dont remember seeing KXLI/KPXM on cable until it bacame Pax which was late 90's

Found out that Must Carry rules didnt take effect until 1991 and even then providers could say no to Independent stations if they had a lack of compelling programming, poor signal quality or inadequate viewership.
