Continuing to spred the Cancer...

Hi there!

Folks back in Dallas call me Doc Bryce. In two weeks, I move all my crap and antics from Dallas to Hot Springs, AR.

I know nothing about the State or the area. Went looking for properties this past weekend and picked up a few pertinent bits and pieces. What I do know, is mostly been told to me from the Station Management that I'll be working for.

Well, now it your turn. I need to know all good and bad. Where to stay away from and keep close too. I'm very young and impressionable....

I'm moving to town to work for one of the local stations. Not sure if I can say which one it is or not, so for now to be on the safe side, we'll just keep that to my self. Don't worry, I'm not air talent. I'm production and don't really seek out to be on the air, but will do it to fill in for someone.

Just a quick outline of who and what I am before we have a bashing fest on Doc:

1) I don't care
2) I work for the station and loyal to the station.
3) I don't care about (certain) people. I care about the station.
4) I’m caught between ol' school radio and deregulation.
5) Started back in '87 left in '96 came back by request in 2000
6) I'm a real easy guy to work with, and very sarcastic.
7) I love to gossip, but will not gossip about present and past companies that I have worked for.
8) I never expose anyone's negative, not publicly known actions by name or vague reference.
9) I never talk down about any company or it actions. I may question their actions with opinion, but would never trash a competitor publicly.
Most important:
10) When you share with me, YOU MUST INSTRUCT ME that this is NOT to be shared with anyone else. I have been known and will talk to others about it as casual conversation unless otherwise instructed not to do so. Your secret will die with me.

Yes, I hold many corporate secrets and not publicly known behaviors of certain radio people that will never be told from me cause I was asked not to divulge.

Well, know that ya'll know about me, give it up! What can I expect in Hot Springs? The cops rough? Will the Feds give me beat down at the National Parks? Where all the local crack and (BLEEP) houses at?

Thanks for your help, look forward to meeting some of you in person.

Doc,
I worked in Hot Springs a few years ago and know the area well.

You'll find a large difference between those that have and those
that don't.

It's a good market -- good competition.

Need any other info?
Just let me know.

Hey Doc, I use to work at KSKY before moving to Arkansas. I am in Solaom Springs and love it!! I thought you were working at BAP doing traffic.

Good Afternoon Doc,

If you would like to find out more about the Spa City, contact me via email at [email protected]

I'll be more than happy to give you the skinny. I am leaving Hot Springs as of Wednesday, July 20th, as I am moving up north - going back where I came from 14 months ago.

Good Luck in Hot Springs.

So Doc, If you'd like to know about Hot Springs from someone who is actually working in the market, (Not that Musicradio wouldn't know, If it's who I'm thinking of) You're welcome to e-mail me. I think I can paint a good picture for ya. And there's only two groups here, so hmmmm,,,wonder which one your going to....

Thanks for your life story....... Who's next?

How about you? What's your story? you still active or burned out like the others before me?

lol sounds like Dallas. Everyone here is part of some "Great Divide".

What the good part of towns? I mean like safe wise where I don't have to worry about my stuff sprouting legs, walking off and finding a another place to reside with out me?

Where's the good places to eat? Right now I'm sticking with the fast food chains and anything p and down Central. That's about the extent of my world in Hot Springs. Seems like everything's off Central.

lol I'm still at WBAP doing traffic. I turned in my notice and moving out. Traffic Pulse is part-time, but they took me in out of pitty cause the Production Director job I had was cut short thanks to a Bankruptcy.

There's nothing left for me to do in Dallas, so I thought I would come and gunk up Hot Springs. You know, bring that market 5 sound to town. Show Hot Springs what real radio sounds like..... If you belive that, I have a bridge for sale up in the North East.

Naw, actually I wanted to do more that I can't do in Dallas. More behind the scenes stuff. I promise that I will blend to the ways of Hot Springs and not tell every one "Well in Texas, we do it like...." or "In Texas ______ is better than your crap". I promised a good friend that I would behave and not belittle everyone just cause I come from Texas. Besides, he said that if I did, every last one of you would eat me alive and would not be invited to any Raindeer games.

Damn, should have done my homework better. Well, roll the dice and bid high! You got a 50/50 shot to be big roller!

I just want to go where the nice people are. Not the ones that glare at you and make you want to walk faster to the car while you drop your keys fumbeling for the ingnition key.

IS it really that hard to rent property in Hot Springs? Seems like I'm having to give everything up short of a blood test to get approved for a rental property. They're verifying everything. Right down to restroom activites (to keep it clean).

Down Here

The only one...ha

Did I work with you in Hot Springs?

Does this mean we're not friends anymore?

Well, I can see this market is going to be a blast. I just can't find Jesus in Dallas, and to think you were in Hot Springs all along. I'll be damned! Sorry, I meant I'll be (for give me father).

Besides, I'm, not asking you to care, I'm telling you to fear me. You just never know who's job I'm coming to town for.

You sure are defensive for a stranger who's trying to get information for a new town. I hope Jesus just wasn't a fad and out the door before I get to meet you. I've heard so much about you back here. We talk, worship, call your name out in bed, and drink in your name.

Originality? Woooooow, Look who's calling the Kettle black. I like you! I can't wait to be your friend. I don't think I could live in town not knowing you weren't my friend.
