PETITIONING FROM PRISON
Note that Mr. Frederick R. Cote has opposed the license
renewals of Radio Stations KMET(AM), Banning, and KOLA(FM),
San Bernardino - see below - and also note that KMET's license
renewal application grant has been rescinded by the FCC.
We have not been able to locate either of the petitions
on the web, but if you come across the URLs, let us know.
These petitions are potentially interesting because Mr. Cote,
the past owner of these facilities, is still incarcerated
as far as we know.
(Side note: According to Helen Jones, the AM station's
call sign, KMET, was chosen by Mr. Cote many years ago. It
was Helen, however, who picked the KOLA call in 1969. The
FM station was known as KFMW prior to the call switch.)
