Cool 92.1

Well nothing against the station but WFOG was a great station and didn't do to great in the numbers. Why would CC think it would work? Especially on that horrible signal. And if voictracking and syndication hasn't worked on Lite, why would it work on Cool?

The signal isn't that bad... It gets spotty mid-Newport News...

92.1 was getting low 2s (12+) when it was Hip-Hop in a OVERCROWDED urban market. CC didn't do anything with that station. The Beat was put on to flank WOWI. They knew Hegwood was going to sign-on an urban format on 102.1 when he acquired the CP from Bishop Willis.

I think Cool will do OK... We'll see...

What about the oldies station SURF 92.3 out of Deltaville? How do they figure in the Hampton Roads mix? They've been consistant forever.
______________

When I was down there earlier this Summer, I got it ok, not sure what the regular pattern is though.

I've been looking at the website (which is not finished) at www.cool921.com and I've seen quite a few pre-'64 hits being thrown in... quite a difference from the '70's heavy WFOG. I guess it depends on the old WFOG fans finding it and liking it. Hopefully Clear Channel will give Cool enough time. I would really enjoy the music mix (if only I could get down there more often!) Can't wait to hear the new Cool!

Three quick questions...
What jingle package (if any) are they currently running?

Who is doing the voiceovers/sweepers for the new station?

Any special features/DJs on the air?

THANKS!

Who is doing the voiceovers/sweepers for the new station? For now, Truckin' Tom Kent...

Any special features/DJs on the air? I hear Truckin' Tom Kent will be heard nights. Some Beach music shows on the weekend...

with a small signal, you'll probably not see a fully-developed product
with live DJs and a bunch of features.

In my opinion, his show was really boring. I heard it for the first time earlier this year when I was on vacation. Anyone else listen before?
______________

Truckin' Tom

I've only heard it during the past several months and I thought it had a lot more energy than many "local" night guys would have and much less ho-hum than Barley or Dick Clark. Goddard's a drag, too.

Anyone listen to Cool 92.1 today? Live jocks make it sound better.
