Cool 92.9's Problems

I found the program schedule taken from "Cool 92.9's website:

Monday-Friday

6:00 AM - Rick McCaffery
11:00 AM - Tony Flash
3:00 PM - Rick Knight (until 6:00 PM Fridays)
7:00 PM - Tom Kent

Fridays would be the "Solid Gold Jukebox" with Rick McCaffery again.

Weekends

Nick Charles
The Beatles Show (Sundays 8:00 AM until 9:00 AM)
Rock & Roll's Greatest Hits with Dick Bartley

I remember that show when it was on WHUD since it took it off last year. What year did Dick Bartley's show ended on WHUD?

There was also "American Gold" and others.

Rick Knight was doing Saturday mornings on "Cool 92.9" playing oldies and then a couple of hours later, it jumped into all of Lite-FM's doing a Saturday night dance show with Claire Channel. Rick Knight is just [EDIT], there is just one problem, on Friday's show, he played "Tri-Fi Drums" used as Dan Ingram's closing theme during the 6:00 PM show before Rick McCaffery comes back in to do his "Solid Gold Jukebox". That was seven months he did his morning show on weekdays. That is a bad move for Rick. Don't forget, Bill Williams was doing his fill-in shift on vacation breaks and on weekends. He was also doing afternoons on Lite-FM at 98.5 and he does his morning show on another oldies station "Cruisin' 93.5". I've never listen to Tom Kent doing his weekdays show for his nationally syndicated "Into the 70's" and "Hall of Fame Coast to Coast" shows, same thing that is also being syndicated on albany's WTRY. I remember when "Cool 94.3", the old WBPM was doing Tom Kent's show on Saturday mornings. That was a great fit for the format before it went Country as "Kicks" and "Wolf". This is one big mess at CC Hudson Valley.

Pamal, it's time to take over.
[EDIT-namecalling]

Playing Dan Ingram's "tri-fi-drums" by anyone at cool 92.9 borders on criminal; these guys couldn't shine Dan's shoes. Should be interesting to see what happens to the oldies format and if they keep it when pamal takes over. If you think about it, grabbing the oldies format by CC after sleazy-x and 94.5 switched was a stroke of genius. Here it was, up for grabs, they grabbed bpm's call letters, and ran with it. Made it into a saleable item and sold it. One thing is for sure: new owners, people get fired....thats radio....

Observation: we need a 70's/80's/90's classic dance format station and a full time oldies station.

discussion???

cheers

This is what we definitly need here in Albany N.Y. too. CC or albany broadcasting should make this move in the capitol region.
