Cool Edit Pro 1 question

I had a computer with Cool Edit Pro 1 installed. I used it frequently. The computer crashed. I got a new computer with Cool Edit Pro 1 istalled, but there are two differences:

1. In single track view... I used to watch the waveform as it was formed while recording. Now it does not show the waveform being formed, only shows it once I stop recording.

2. I seem to have a "snap to" problem. In my old version... I used to be able to click anywhere with pretty decent accuracy. Now, I will often click somewhere in a wavefore, but it will go a bit to the right or left. In order to get the click I want... I have to zoom in.

Any help with either of these problems will be much appreciated.
 
for the snapping problem, go to EDIT and all the way down find snapping and make sure nothing is checked.

for the wave update during recording go to OPTIONS and SETTINGS and find "live update during recording" and check it.

hope this helps, i took the stuff from CEP 2.0 but should be the same.

Depending on what you use CEP for I would really consider upgrading to AA 1.5 if your system can handle it...and you can afford it.
