Cool edit settings quesstion

Hi,

I was wondering if there is a way to group settings into one easy button; like EQ and compression, instead of having to do each effect individually every time. Several people use the room and each voice is different. They all have their settings and I was wondering if I could just combine the settings and label it "Joe", instead of "Joe's EQ", "Joe's Processing", "Joe's Reverb".

Thanks,

sc

This answer, by the way, will be the same in Adobe Audition. Adobe didn't change this feature.

Look under "Favorites" in single-screen mode (not multitrack), then "edit favorites." You can install entire series of commands that way. Easiest way to do it is use the "copy from last command" button that comes up on the "edit favorites" popup. Meaning if you JUST applied Joe's EQ to some audio, throw it into your favorites before you do the next thing, like his compression or his reverb.

Remember, several of the function keys are already taken up by pre-programmed features. Every time I add a macro, I start with F12 and work my way backwards (Alt+F12, Ctrl+F12, Alt+Ctl+F12, then on to F11, etcetera).

In multitrack, the favorites settings let you customize even more, but starting in the single-screen mode is the easiest. In multi, it's under "shortcuts," then "keyboard and midi triggers."

Are you familiar with the "scripts and batch processing" function? With that you can record a series of steps into a "script" and save them as one just like you want. and name it...then you just go into scripts later when you want to use that function or group of them, and you go at it.

No, I'm not familiar with that function, but yes, that sounds like exactly what I want to do. I'll play around with that. Thank You very much!

The CEP/Audition help file does a fantastic job of 'walking one thorugh it'
