Cool Gold

Does anyone have good info on Dial-Global / WW1 "Cool Gold"? I am interested in a PD/Mornings position at a station that is thinking of running it, but I've never really heard it before. I looked it up on both websites, but neither specifically mentions "Cool Gold". I'm guessing its a 60s/70s/80s Rock format...but I could be wrong. Please let me know if you have any info on this format. Is it good for a mid-sized market with several country stations, a classic rock, ac, and talk? How about compatible shows...any ideas?

I've never heard of this format, and I try to stay familiar with the satellite formats. Doing a bit of research, it appears to be a renamed version of Dial-Global's Oldies/Classic Hits format. I believe this is the format that runs on WCLS 97.7 FM and WAMW-FM 107.9 FM. If so, know that the format doesn't run itself -- you'll have to give it some legs. Almost all of the imaging is based around local liners (although I believe DG provides a station voice). Both of those stations have local morning shows, and WAMW-FM is local from 6am until 5pm if memory serves. Personality is fairly sparse in the satellite dayparts.

This format is being aggressively tweaked by the folks at DG.

Note that I have not worked for a station carrying this format, so this is based purely on outsider observation -- and I am not 100% sure that these stations are carrying this format.
