(COOL NEWS) AVB State OF TRANCE... Now heard all over Brazil on Jovem Pan

This show just keeps getting more and more Simulcast's.... Now its heard all over Brazil on a Network of Dance/Top 40 stations called Jovem Pan... Im sure Chrles probably knows this already, but just giving a heads up to all the AVB fans.

By the way, Jovem Pan isnt a Dance station Per say, its just a mainstream CHR that is Dance Friendly, but not Dance Heavy like a Z-1035 station, but plays moderate amounts of dance.
 
DAAAAMN! Jovem Pan is Brazil's heritage CHR station, and can be heard all over the country. It is by far the most listened to Pop station in Brazil. This is HUGE for Armin.
BTW, the Top 40 radio scene in Sao Paolo is nuts! You've got Jovem Pan, Transamerica Pop, and Mix FM, which are all CHR/Pop networks. In addition there's Dance station Energy 97, and recently 89.1 FM flipped to a Rhythmic friendly CHR/Pop station. All of the Brazil CHR webcasters can be found on my lists.
 
Looks like the whole country of Brazil is a CHR hotspot, and they have some damn good chr radio in Brazil, some of which are Dance Friendly, most are Rock friendly, probably near as many CHRs as in the U.S. Of course Brazil is only slightly smaller than the lower 48 U.S....... Latin America is just freaking huge.
 
Oh by the way Chrles, do you have that FM Scan page that lists all the station Frequencys and coverage area, I love that website, its alot of fun, but I have trouble with it, and dont think its very user friendly.

The only thing that sucks for Jovem Pan is that in the past year they can no longer be heard in Rio. I don't know why that city doesnt have its own Dance station. The biggest Dance event on the planet happens there if I'm not mistaken. Check this out, Above & Beyond played in Rio for New Years in front of ONE MILLION people :eek: :eek: :eek:

I listened to Jovem Pan this afternoon. Really enjoyed it.

I was trying to understand the Portuguese, and apparently they are having a contest where the winner gets to travel to NYC to see Miley Cyrus. And they mentioned Z-100 and played Z-100's jingle.
 
Which Jovem Pan stream is the best one to listen to? I found like 7 streams on shoutcast. Are they all the same simulcast, or are the locally programed. Or do they air a mix of both National syndicated, as well as local content, similar to the Galaxy stations in the UK, and Loca FM in Spain. I want to listen to this station, but I dont know which stream I should check out. I dont remember which one I used to listen to before.
 
I think it's a mix of local and national content, at least with some of the Jovem Pan stations.
All the Galaxy stations are supposed to start airing the same content if they havent already done so, following in the footsteps of the Kiss stations.
 
Some of the Jovem Pan stations look like they are pretty low powered, like maybe 500 watts or less, while others look like flame throwers, at least 30kw to 100kw. Do they not build really tall radio towers in brazil like they do in the U.S... I heard Latin America stations dont have really tall towers, but some of the stations are up to 200kw...
 
Nah, none of their transmitters are at 500 watts, but some are at 5000 watts. I know the Jovem Pan transmitter in Sao Paolo is very powerful.
 
im guessing the one in Sao Paulo and the few in the neighboring towns can probably make it into Rio. Still, Rio should have its own Dance station, I heard Energy 97 in Sao Paulo does pretty well, and even it has a somewhat limited signal due to the Mountanous Terrain, and the Huge Size of the city. Ive been all through out Latin America, except for Equidor, and Venezuala, and I had trouble with Energy 97s signal in part of Sao Paulo, so I listened to their CHR Metro Fm when I couldnt get Energy. Metro FM has a Huge signal, can be received about 150 miles north of the city, especially if your up high, im not sure if they have any translator booster stations that I may have been receiving, or if it was still the Sao Paulo signal. Im sure I listened to Jovem Pan too, as their were a few stations that I picked up on different frequencys in different places, but because I dont speak Portugees, I couldnt positively ID the regional stations. I did here quite a bit of CHRs though, even in very rural Rain Forest Area's, most of which had a rock lean, and BTW, the local Rock from Brazil is very good, and so is the rock from Argentina. In Argentina I had alot of trouble getting stations to come in good, though the dial was over loaded, plenty of Dance friendly stations in Buenos Aires, some of which only cover 5-10 miles. Chille had a couple of Dance stations in and around Santiago, one or two of which where Modern Rock-Dance Hybrids, but I dont think any of them streamed.
